Our old A/C broke down and friend recommended Convertible. We called to get an estimate and were told that the A/C would be $2600. We were told by the salesman, that we were lucky and did not needed new furnace. The day of installation of A/C we were told that we actually need new furnace and were told new price $6400. We were shocked that we were not told this at the day of the original estimate and that we were not even warn that it may be a possibility that it may happened. We were very upset and thought that was very unprofessional from the original Salesman to do that. On the upside the 2 workers who installed the furnace and A/C were very knowledgeable and very professional. They made the whole experience much better for us. Overall we were still glad we did choose Convertible as the price and the product are still better then other companies offer.

The reason that you needed a furnace unexpectedly at the last minute, was that the technicians discovered your heat exchanger was cracked when they started installing the AC evaporator coil which is located directly above your furnace heat exchanger.
If we had not mentioned it and let you run your furnace this winter you could've likely died from carbon monoxide poisoning. So the salesman would never have any way of knowing this because you had to dismantle the air conditioning system to see the heat exchanger.
I am glad that you brought this to our attention so that you didn't think that we just arbitrarily try to sell you a new furnace. Enjoy your safe new system.
