Dead birch tree removal along property line gone bad

Since the below incident the owner of Kodiak contacted me and all has been resolved. Thank you for taking the time to reach out.

Bjorn

I had a dead birch that needed removal along a property line. I had Kodiak come quote the job and I agreed to it. When the guys came to cut it down the tree ended being so rotten that it basically came down on its own once the chainsaw cut into it. Most of the tree had come down on the neighbour's property. When my wife asked about it the guys said they won't go on a neighbour's property to clean up so the neighbour ended up having to clean it up as he wanted it done right away and neither my wife nor I had time to help as it was during a working day of the week. My wife and I felt terrible as not only was there a mess on the neighbours property, but his fence was also damaged. I understand things can happen especially with a rotten tree, but to not take some responsibility to clean up what was on the neighbour's property is very surprising. I would have at least made an effort to contact the neighbour to see if it's okay to go on the property to move the debris to my property. Then when I contacted Kodiak about adjusting the invoice based on less than 30 minutes of being onsite they referred me to their terms and conditions of sale and deposit terms. I understand terms very well, but what I can't understand is charging full price for the actual work done. $500 plus HST for less than 30 minutes of work and a pile of debris left on the neighbour's yard along with a damaged fence. Let's get real here folks. We're not robots. No attempt of any human element was made on this project. Just strictly business.

$565.00
