Furnace

I had an employee out from Air Force to give me an assessment of the state of my furnace and ensure it was in good condition for the coming winter. I had picked the company based on good reviews on this site. Unfortunately, the experience I received did not align with what other reviewers had described and I was ultimately dissatisfied with the experience. Soon after the visit, I was contacted by the owner, Ivan, who was genuinely distraught about my experience and went out of his way to do everything he could to make up for the previous visit. Ivan’s response to the situation convinced me that he does truly care about his company and its customers.

Furnace

Had a very likeable fellow from Air Force today to look at my Lennox furnace. I had picked the company based on good reviews on this site. The tech was an hour late but I understand that is how it goes sometimes so didn't mind much.

From the moment he saw the furnace it was bad news for me. It needed immediate replacement for a variety of reasons, but most worrisome of all was that he was detecting significant gas leaks and warned that the furnace could explode or catch fire. Because the cost of a replacement was high, I judged it worthwhile to get a second opinion. I spoke to another expert (for free) who advised me to be skeptical and to call Atco for a free gas leak assessment immediately to validate the results. Atco was here and left me with a report stating there was absolutely no gas leaking into the house in or around the furnace. He suggested this was a common tactic to scare people and that he had likely just cycled the furnace before showing me the misleading readings.

I hesitate to leave a negative review but feel responsible to warn others.
