City Stairs

I got a quote for basement stairs, exterior railings and interior railings for a renovation project in the Fall of 2016.

The stairs were installed when I asked, but not measured correctly amd we had to modify the landing as they were being installed.

Since before Christmas I have been trying to get dates for the railing installation, and was given the run around for weeks to even have someone come and measure (it being to cold to measure being one excuse). The measurements were finally done for both interior and exterior.

I then got a call from the owner of the company telling me that my original quote (done off architectural drawings) was to increase in price by $1700. After blaming us for everything he could think of - it turned out he forgot to add posts, or maybe, just wanted to make sure he got the business and the deposit.

Since then, I was forced to goto my credit card company because of delay after delay, they advised I set deadlines.

The exterior railing deadline was missed by a week, but eventually they were installed.

The deadline for the interior railing is now almost 2 weeks passed. I hear nothing from the company when they miss their own deadlines and I only get excuses and empty promises when I try and follow-up with them.

Today is 21st Febuary, I was told I would absoultely have my railings today (after missing two previous dates they set). I emailed them, and have had no reply. Being as they're working on 2 staircases I gave all my workers the day off and have lost another days work.

My property will be ready to sell soon and I still have no railings...
