Furnace and AC repair

We originally called Harding because they installed our heating and air conditioning when our home was built. We were having issues with our furnace. They came promptly and we decided to sign up for their Gold club membership as that made the most sense for the service and potential parts we would need over the next year. It didn't require a lot of work at this time but will in the future.

As summer has begun we have found that our air conditioner is running continuously and the air just doesn't feel as cold as it used to. We caled Harding and decide to upgrade to the Gold combo membership. We did have some difficulty/descrepency at first with interpretation of what the combo entailed. However this was quickly rectified by Service Manager Kristina. We appreciated the fast response and despite the fact that we have had to wait a few days for the part and it has been quite hot, that is not really in their control. They have kept in contact with us and have made the over all experience a good one. I placed 30$ as the cost because our work was covered by the combo.

The part is getting installed tomorrow will update with progress if needed.

Approximate cost of services:
$30.00
What could this company do to improve their services?
Less visits would be nice- difficult to arrange to be there on multiple occasions. But that isn't always possible.
Any advice to offer fellow homeowners facing a similar project?
Call Harding, be sure to ask lots of questions so that you fully understand what you are getting and they understand your expectations.

Furnace and AC repair

So we originally called Harding because they installed our heating and air conditioning when our home was built. We were having issues with our furnace. They came promptly and we decided to sign up for their Gold club membership as that made the most sense for the service and potential parts we would need over the next year.

This is probably where the end of the great customer service ends...

As summer has begun we have found that our air conditioner is running continuously and the air just doesn't feel as cold as it used to. We call Harding and decide to upgrade to the Gold Combo Club Membership.

They came for the first "diagnostic" visit. VERY BRIEF and then said we needed to schedule a leak test that would take approximately 3 hours. So we scheduled a leak test for Monday . It took maybe 45 mins in total from the second he arrived at our door till he left. Surprise surprise said that we would cost us 500$ plus dollars and we needed a new part and another visit. He said the part costs upwards of 700$ But we found it online for around 200$ which isn't even a wholesale price. So it kind of sounds like labor is being tacked on twice.

Now if you are not familiar with with Harding Gold Combo Membership it "includes":
*Guaranteed appointments within 24 hours.
*Free annual precision tune up
*Free Safety inspection
*Up to $1000 over a year period in free repairs per each appliance
*$0 diagnostic fee
*50% off duct cleaning every three years including dryer vent
*Sign today and get today's repairs free

So this is where it gets interesting....
They call to book the third visit saying that the part should be in soon. They try to upgrade us to the Platinum combo club membership/ My husband mentions that we already upgraded to a combo and that the "Sign today and get today's repairs free"should apply. The person on the phone says oh you are right. I will have to check with my supervisor.

He calls back later in the day to say that the "free repairs"
comes out of our $1000 over a year period in free repairs per each appliance.

Now if you ask me and anyone else I've asked to read this...
The combo membership implies you will get today's repairs free for upgrading to the combo... and then you have an additional 1000$ per year.

Sounds an awful lot like false advertising to me?? So far not pleased with the customer service. They then passed us over to the supervisor and of course we got an answering machine and not an actual person.

I'm extremely disappointed with this service. It feels like we are being swindled. I wrote 700$ for the cost because it sounds like approximately what we will have to pay over and above the 30$ a month. At this rate though who knows.
I would not recommend this company at this moment. I may also consider contacting local news sources to have them investigate this bogus company's memberships.

Approximate cost of services:
$700.00

Solve the problem in one phone call and not 5. Stop saying one thing and then going back on your word. Stand by your "memberships and follow them to the letter".

Call a private HVAC person to do maintenance and repairs on your system.
