Move from Toronto to Vancouver

Overall I am very satisfied with Greenlands handling of my move from Toronto to Vancouver. My goods arrived in virtually perfect condition thanks to some extremely diligent packers in Toronto. Great work!

Company Response

Dear Dan,

We apologize for any frustration you have experienced as a result of partial delay. It is our goal to make the move process a stress free experience for our customers. We value your input and have reviewed your move documentation in order to better respond to your concerns.

Some of your household items were left behind because of anerror at the warehouse. As soon as wehave received your missing items list on January 23, 12, we were able to locate all of the items and the found items were shipped to Vancouver right way on January 27, 12.

You were advised that it will take 7 to 10 days from Toronto, ON to reach Vancouver, BC

According to our records and your missing item list, Mountain bike, - Tires x 2 (two arrived, two didn't)- Queen size matress (ONE ARRIVED, one didn't, but the box spring arrived for the missing one), Big outdoor vase - Picture / Mirror boxes - Shopping cart - Aluminum step ladder (6 feet), Metal shelves Exercise / Workout bench - Exercise weight stand were reported missing.

Nevertheless, all of the above items have been found. Only one item, which is step ladder, is still in transit and we'll coordinate the delivery as soon as it reaches Vancouver.

Again, our sincere apologies for the delay in shipmentof some of your items. We strive to make each and every move an error & stress free experience. Please contact us at (855) 281-0019 and I'd be more than happy to discuss and clarify any questions you may have.

Regards,

Move from Toronto to Vancouver

Horrible. Avoid at all costs. 1/3 of my goods didn't arrive with my shipment. I was told the "made a mistake in the warehouse" and that it would be a few weeks.

A few weeks? My bed and dining room table? They should be making special arrangements to ship it out, especially considering the estimate was actually too low and I ended up paying almost $1,000 more than originally quoted.

Not responsive at all to phone or email inquiries. My requests for even a partial refund went ignored, even though they completely violated the terms of the contract by being so late.

In the end, most of my stuff did finally arrive almost a month late, and to the credit of the packers everything was intact. Hence I'm not giving them a total zero on this review.

It was their fault, they didn't make any special efforts to fix it. Look elsewhere for Long Distance Movers in Canada, because Greenland Van Lines (or Greenland Moving) is not reputable, and will likely lose your stuff.

You'll notice the response below from the company, I find it really odd (and potentially libelous) that they'd choose to not only publish confidential details of my goods, but also that they'd choose to respond here instead of contacting me directly.

What could this company do to improve their services?
Follow up, take responsibility when you screw up, take action when there is a mistake and don't just wait for your next regularly scheduled shipment after you've forgotten a big chunk of stuff. Oh and maybe don't list my worldy goods online for everyone to view. Thanks for that
Any advice to offer fellow homeowners facing a similar project?
Avoid Greenland Moving, and avoid Moveit.ca, which is where I submitted my contact info and how Greenland reached me.
