I hired him in July 2021 to complete a legal basement including permits. After continuous follow ups throughout July, August, September on whether he submitted the permit (which he told me did and then later told me he just lets his engineer deal with him and he doesn't know), I contacted the city to realize it hadn't been submitted. He finally submitted it in September. Long story short, a legal basement was not possible. I renegotiated the contract to complete a personal use legal basement which he confirmed would be completed by December 31, 2021. Fast forward on that, and I had to hire another contractor to finish the basement in April 2022, despite paying several deposits to Steve. This is a classic case of a nightmare contractor. Continuously doesn't do what he says he would do (like show up), goes days/weeks without answering his phone or getting back to you, just unprofessional on so many fronts. Extremely frustrating process, which I truly regret hiring.

I can understand your frustration when someone like you gets caught up in their own games and I wish as many people as possible would have the chance to read this review.
I do not tell you personally that you are just a little impulsive escrow or just one more bad stain in our society, justice will take care of it.
And yes, I must admit that with all problems related to the Covid pandemic and all regulations that change at all times and the workers that we have to send in quarantine regularly we have accumulated delays and not to mention the supply of unavailable materials and more.
I must also admit that if you would not have hidden that your third parking, (which is a prerequisite for the right to build legal basement) you build was not legal and you did it without permission and permit, we would simply have refused to work with you.
All your repetitive calls, text, e-mail a repetition at any time or day pushing us to advance the work as quickly as possible even before having received the permit to start the work. Plus, that you knew very well that your parking was illegal. So, no legal basement possible.
I cannot say that you are my friend, I am not doctor but as good human being you should consult yours's, I believe that your medication is not adapted to your situation.
