The 2023 HomeStars Best of Awards were recently announced and the pros who went above and beyond client expectations were recognized with this prestigious honour. We reached out to one of our Best of the Best award winners, A&A Masonry, run by power couple Al and Corrine Pringle. With this success story, we celebrate couples who have made it big in the industry. We spoke to them about working as a couple, their business and winning the award. Here’s what they had to say about their success and their journey with HomeStars…

Let Us Start At The Beginning…

“We had experience in renovations and other businesses in the past, so we really wanted to start this business with a methodical, steady, and stable growing concept. Especially in restorations, it’s important to have steady growth as opposed to rapid growth. You would start to sacrifice the quality of workmanship, and we didn’t want to do that. We wanted to keep a great reputation from day one going forward so our growth was very well thought out and not rushed and staged at a very comfortable pace.

So, in order to expand in the early stages, we used Google advertising, and then we heard about HomeStars and encouraged our customers to review us at HomeStars which allowed us to have fairly good control of the rate of expansion. And this allowed us to expand relatively slowly but steadily & comfortably. As the old adage states, in the end, the turtle wins the race. And that has surely been true for us.”

Thoughts On The Key To Success…

“For us, the key to success is always putting the customers first, to make sure they’re happy no matter their expectations. HomeStars’ reviews have kept us very honest and helped us ensure that our customers are always happy. In the end, we always deliver great products to our customers and great service and leave the majority of customers very happy.

These happy customers over the long run come back to us as repeat customers and end up referring us to their friends and family. With the right attitude and responsibility taken with customers, we have become a leader in the industry. We actually love responding when there’s a warranty with a service issue. Good customer service these days is a dying breed and with most companies, you have to fight for your rights to get the warranty done or to be able to return a product that’s defective. So a lot of people feel that they’re going to have to put up a fight when they call us for any warranty issues and are pleasantly surprised when they receive speedy warranty service. Even though it’s a hard road at times, it’s resulted in very good customer loyalty.”

Starting In 2008 And Managing Business During A Global Recession…

According to Corrine, A&A Masonry wasn’t overly affected by the recession at that time as they were just getting started and felt that people were still interested in doing restorations to their major investment, their home.

“Don’t be afraid to get started. There’s never a perfect time for anything. The failure to start is the biggest failure. Don’t be in a rush and build your business with quality service and good things will ultimately occur.”

“Now that we have Kevin as our account manager it has been a great experience better than ever, and we end up investing more in marketing with HomeStars because of the client support that we get.

It’s very handy to have the app dashboard on our mobile devices, as this enables us to respond   quickly to reviews. We do have a full-time receptionist who uses a desktop computer to handle any leads that come in via HomeStars.
