My place initially had carpeting that was pretty worn out, so I wanted to go with hardwood flooring instead to cut out the amount of dust. I found Nucasa online and was happy to find that they provided a lot of information on how to choose the right kind of flooring for my house. I went with engineered hardwood flooring, a light-colored maple from Germany. While it was more expensive (~$6/sq ft) than something comparable that can be found at Home Depot, I was quite happy with the natural color shade and the fact that it's safe for radiant heating. Did the installation myself with a couple of friends over a several days. The installation was fairly straightforward. Will recommend to other friends, but the pricing might be an obstacle for some.

Had to replace the countertop in our small kitchen as our old countertop was rotting from water seepage. Found out about Top Kitchens through a friend who got his countertop there as well. The main office is located in a out of the way business park. Anyways, I found the staff there very helpful and asked the right questions about what I I wanted the kitchen to look like (more modern), and I ended up splurging a bit and went for a beige granite top instead of laminate, but the price was reasonable after during some quick price shopping. The countertop was ready for pickup a couple of weeks after placing the order, which was fine as I was busy with work during that time period. It took my buddy and I a day to put it all together and it looks fabulous. Would recommend to other friends should they be looking for new countertops.
