I bought an outside Aquafilter 500 and a fluorescent canopy for my tank. The prices are really good, beating most of the other shops. Fish pellets, especially are better. You can get the higher end fish pellets that other fish stores sell their lower end ones. Just make sure the fish are healthy before you purchase them.

I bought some sod rolls to replace some grass that the crows had pecked through. The sod was cut the day I picked it up so it was nice and fresh. If you phone ahead, they will set aside your sod so that it will be ready for you to pick up. My grass is now growing well...until the crows peck at it again! haha

Big Al's has another store in Burnaby, but I have sometimes found that the plant selection at this Richmond store is a bit more diverse. I wrote a review on the Burnaby store as well, but the Richmond store is just as nice for stocking up your tank. I bought some nice plants from the Richmond store so that the smaller fish in my tank can have a place of refuge from the larger fish.

$40.00

Fraser Aquarium has been around for ages! They usually have a good selection of freshwater fish so I can restock my tank with new species. The fish food prices are a good deal if you can find them on sale. They have a good selection of arrowana fish as well.

$100.00

I bought my 72 gallon fresh water tank with all the goodies from Big Als. They are closer to my house and usually have good sales so I drop by whenever I have a chance. I may upgrade to a salt water tank in the future and will go back to Big Als.

$500.00
