They are expensive, everyone knows that. But when you get a leak during rainy season, and it's always rainy season in Raincouver, you just want someone to show up and start working on your leak. i didnt want to call a smaller company and wait for the guy to flake out becasuse he says he was too busy on another job and will "try" to come tomorrow. So it ended up being some moss growth that grew a certain way and channeled rain down to 1 particular rusty nail head. We didnt replace the whole roof, just that section. I was kind of miffed that they had to come out twice becasuse the first time, the guy said he didnt see any visible holes, swept the moss away and said it should be good. when it started to look again, thats when they came back the second time to tarp it off for 2 weeks to let it dry completely, then rip out that section and fix it once it and for all. Like i said, they are expensive, but in a pinch, sometimes you just want someone to get there and take look ASAP.

While mowing the lawn on a super dry hot day, i noticed that a section of my lawn was wet and mushy. I went to the draintile drain pipe in the back and noticed a flow of water even though it hadnt rained in days. Turns on the incoming water pipe under my lawn had sprung a leak. Adam came promptly, dug up my lawn and replaced the entire old copper line with new pvc. The job was pretty extensive for a 1 man job and took about a 1.5 days to complete so was pleasantly surprised that it was still under $1K. we've used him before for much smaller jobs and wont hesitate to use him again. Our neighbours also use him too. Honest prices so dont need to worry about getting gouged.

We were recommended these guys by friends who shopped around and swore this was the cheapest place in the lower mainland. we did a bit of research too and did agree that they were the cheapest. But don't get me wrong, Quality is still reliable. Only mistake was when they came to measure for the blinds, the window frames were being demo'ed and they forgot to take that into account. But they could have easily blamed me for not letting them know that they didnt know that. Instead they just took back all the blinds to cut them down to fit and only charged me an extra $100. ***WORD TO THE WISE*** if youre getting the white blinds, go for the off white pearl white, not the sheer artic snow white. The arctic white ones will have a noticeable bluey tint to them when next to your walls. Again, lesson learned from the original friends that made the mistake and warned us.

Rob was great. He came out twice to verify door measurements as a bunch of our doors were not standard size and needed to be custom built. He and the other shop staff were always super friendly and took the time to help us. We also bought all our door fixtures from them. Rob took the time to show us all the different styles and colours they have and gave us a few options for our front door lock system. Lots of samples in their shop to help with your decision making. Doors and glass are downstairs. upstairs is their lock and door fixture area. Everything was delivered as promised and on time and did not hold up that part of our renos like other things did.

You get a choice of about 7 or 8 styles of mantels. It's custom built to your measurements. This was an easy process too. You just fill in the dimensions on their template. IT only took a couple weeks for them to build. You also get a choice of quality of wood you want which obviously affects the overall cost. The quality of wood you want depends on if you were planning on staining it or painting over it. Overall, I am quite satisfied with what they had. We were rushed doing our renos, so the fact they had some predesigned ones that you can customize into your space totally saved us time and headaches looking for a custom millworker that would most likely charge us way more to make us completely custom mantle from scratch.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Bought a dining room table and 6 matching chairs back in April. Chairs just !@!DEW#! got here today!!! That's 4 months of waiting!!! When we bought and paid for in full in april, they were having a 15% off sale so we decided to buy from them instead of waiting for an event at Bay whoever sells EQ3 stuff. We were told 3 to 4 weeks max for delivery and possibly even sooner if they had stock in their warehouse. 3 to 4 weeks come and go so I make a call. They have the table, but no chairs as some restaurant in Vancouver put in an order for 75+ chairs so they get dibs. They say to wait a little longer as another shipment is expected to come from Winnipeg head office. Another month goes by and im still entertaining guests on a costco foldable table and lawn chairs. I call again. They say they can send me the table for now and some loaner chairs. a month later, I get my table which has a huge gap in the middle as the two pieces of table top arent perfectly parrallel. Loaner chairs are mix and match floor model chairs from the store, one of which i put back in the box cuz the legs are all wiggly. Another month passes and i call again. They say theyre backordered. I say im very displeased and want to speak with a manager. I explain to him if i had known this would take this long, i would never have bought it in the first place. I also suggest that if it takes any longer, i want to return everything and just buy someplace else. He says, he's not sure if i can return after so long, and if i do, i may by subjet to a restocking fee. I say that it's not even my fault, the reason i want to return everything is their fault. He says he'll talk to head office and call me back. He never does. More time goes by, and i make my usual call to EQ3 customer service every 2 weeks. Finally, i'm so pissed I cant take it anymore. I demand that I get compensated somehow for my pain and suffering and that they owe me something for my troubles. I finally do get a return call from a customer service rep saying that her manager has approved either $100 gift card or 10% rebate on my credit card.I choose the 10%. The rep says it should be processed on my credit card the next day. it doesnt, os i call back. she says its now up to the store manager to process the rebate and shell email him to do it asap. that was 2 weeks ago. i still havent gotten it. so finally today, the chairs get delivered. they come in boxes of 2s. i build the first 2 and am quite happy with their workmanship. i open the next box and immediately notice the wood finish and grain look different then the first box. i open the 3rd box and notice the same thing. the last 4 chairs are obviously made in a different factory than the first 2. one chair is also de-lamming already. note that the first 2 arent laminated, if they are they did a great job if hiding it. anyways, thats what my next ordeal and series of phone calls with them will be about: what are they going to do about my 4 lesser quality chairs that dont even match my othe chairs and table. Like I said, HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! Promised return phone calls, that never get returned and just bad overall customer satisfaction. I wish we never walked into that store on Granville...
