A while back we had our kitchen redone by Kre-Art and I felt that a brief review might help others thinking about updating their kitchens. I would not recommend the firm for a number or reasons. For example: -new tiles were installed on the top of exisitng tiles leaving a big drop into other adjoining rooms. The tile extend to the front entance and there is little clearance for an entrance carpet. -the over the stove microwave was improperly installed so that it vented back into the kitchen. Their fix was to caulk all around the microwave to stop the exhaust from venting back into the house rather then fixing the connection to the outdoor vent. We had an expert come in later who said in all his career he had never seen this done before. -there wa insufficient space(practically zero) between the stove and the countertops resuting in the cabinet plastic coating melting when the oven clean feature was used. GE responded to our complaint and said that it was not their problem as the stove was not installed to specification. The stove was not an after-thought, we had selected it as part of our planning project . -minor changes we requested were hotly debated. For example we requested a third hinge on our wood bathroom door thet were installing and we had to argue strongly to get them to do this.\ Most troubling was the way the owner of the firm sided with his workers no matter what mistake was made, even as in the case of the microwave installation. I can only assume that he had very little construction experience. On the positive side the kitchen design other than the stove/cabinet spacing, was well done Bottom line; I could not, in good faith recommend this firm to friends, neighbors, or family. -
