As you read Tornado’s response, do you honestly think we wanted half a leak fixed that was damaging our home. Tornado was responsible for troubleshooting all sources of leakage, not just the one they found. The second leak was obvious, they just chose not to put the effort in to find it. Once we found in on our own, they wanted to charge for a full second visit. This is unfair business practice. Shame on Tornado. Half honest and half a job! We agreed to pay $200.00 for Tornado to come troubleshoot a bath tub leak that was dripping onto the drywall ceiling below. The deal was that if we agreed to move forward with the repair, then the troubleshooting cost would be waived (which it was). Our assumption throughout the entire process was that the troubleshooting would include all sources of leakage (otherwise their would be no point in bringing in a professional). The technician found a leak in the drain elbow and concluded that this was the source. I was skeptical because the drip was so small compared to the volume of water that was dripping onto the ceiling. We agreed to pay $250 +tax for the repair (which we did on the same day assuming that the technician correctly identified all sources). The technician offered to replace the other plastic pipes at a higher cost, but because he did not prove that they were leaking, we elected to not replace them for no reason. The next day the leak came back (in high volume). This time we did the troubleshooting ourselves and discovered that there was no seal/gasket installed at the tub's overfill. We found the second leak by filling the tub and having someone splash water around. With the splashes, we noticed some water getting into the overflow. I am not a plumber, but we found the second problem/leak in about 5 minutes (picture attached). This meant that there were actually 2 sources of leakage. The technician only identified 1 source. The technician did ask if we had recently overfilled the tub. We answered no because the tub has never been overfilled. The technician did not ask if we think water may have been inadvertently splashed into the overflow. Our opinion is that the technician was responsible for checking the overflow himself (which he chose not to). The overflow is part of the same simple circuit. Anyhow, we reported the problem back to Tornado fully expecting them to offer to come back at a fair price. They informed us that it would be another $200 +tax to send a technician to fix the second leak (that should have been found the first time as part of the troubleshooting). We believe this to be unfair as it would have cost substantially less to do the repair the same day without a second visit. Our tenants, who were also present during the entire troubleshooting process, also felt that the troubleshooting was inadequate and suggested that we ask for our money back. Neither us nor our tenants can understand why Tornado feel the job was completed properly when the complete circuit was not properly inspected. The complete circuit really on comprised of a few feet of pipe. We chose Tornado because it seemed to have good reviews. We could have paid less. Now I regret not paying less because it probably would have got fixed properly the first time. Our second choice was a Holmes endorsed plumber. I am not sure why we didn't use them, because we had a great experience using them a few years ago. I don't think it is unreasonable to expect a plumber to check for all potential sources of leakage (because there always could be more than 1 source). Having Tornado basically tell us that we would have to pay for another service call to fix the second leak is unfair and not reasonable business practice. We were willing to pay more, but certainly not for a full visit. We are not the one that missed the second leak. Anyhow, buyer beware. Even highly recommended companies have bad days. I know Tornado will respond with all kinds of excuses, just like the aggressive ones that I received by text, but at the end of the day, they were responsible for finding all the sources of leakage in the simple circuit (even if there were multiple sources). I know Tornado feels that they were only obligated to find 1 leak, but we are really not sure how they consider this proper and/or complete troubleshooting. Tornado, please remember that we agreed to pay for proper troubleshooting, you were the ones that waived the charge if we went with the repair. The question Tornado needs to answer is, who in the world would hire a professional to fix half a leakage problem.

Hi James, thank you so much for the almost honest review after several changes from your end story, changes was after we sent over to the Homestars company with text evidence, pictures and video.Sorry to hear that you are disappointed.
Also the picture you added to the evidence it's doesn't show anything ( just overflow taking apart of you,and we haven't touched that even) unfortunately we don't have an option to post picture over here or video.

Before I went a head with the repair I explained in understandable manner that I'M RESPONSIBLE ONLY FOR THE ELBOW, AND 4 PEOPLE WERE A WITNESSED ME SAYING THAT!!!!

However, I am sorry you were hoping the cheapest option, to replace the leaking elbow, can fix all of your plumbing issues.

When I arrived, there were 3 very smart man that were surrounding, and a woman watching from a couch. I opened the ceiling, as agreed, and we filled up the bathtub and drained it a few times. Than people who live there used shower head and down spout. Afterwards we detected a leak from the elbow. In addition all plumbing components were surround with the yellow ABS cenment (glue). That means there was a leak in the past and some one poured glue on top of the pipes hoping to solve the problem without knowing where it was actually leaking. I quoted $250+tax for replacing  the leaking elbow, and recommend to replace the rest of faulty looking pipe for additional cost. Nevertheless, owner immediately chose the cheapest option, although I strongly suggested replacing all of the drain, starting  from overflow and past the p-trap. As well the existing drain was also not the right one and I did tell that to the owner.

Before I went ahead with the repair I explained  in very understandable manner "I'M RESPONSIBLE ONLY FOR THE ELBOW",  4 PEOPLE WERE THERE AND HEARD THAT!!!!

After the repair we filed up the bathtub and  drained it, all of MY REPLACEMENTS DIDN'T LEAK!!!!! I have a video of that, and it was sent to HomeStars for investigation.

During the initial installation, I was disappointed to discover that an emergency pull cable was not installed on our garages door. It was not even offered on the quote. This option is absolutely required for garages that do not have a secondary entrance. Without the emergency pull cable, if the garage opener happens to fail, there would be no way of getting into the garages without significant damage. After I called to voice my disappointment, they sent out a service technician to install the necessary hardware. I was only charged for the hardware and not the service. 5 months later when we needed to use the emergency cable, the bolts were found extremely loose and almost falling off (preventing the lock from working properly). I called and was told that "anything could happen in 5 months". Please note that the emergency pull cable is only used in the event of an emergency, so we had only tried to use it once in 5 months. Anyhow, my opinion was that the loose bolts were a result of poor/improper installation, since we barely used the garage in the last 5 months. I was was told by the company that I should not make wrongful accusations and that I should have checked the work. My opinion is that I shouldn't have to check the work and a system that was used for the first time should have worked. Bolts don't just come loose unless there is a problem. Anyhow, I will fix the lock and cable myself. Now I am getting harassed by Easy Flip to remove my review even though I believe my assessment to be true and accurate. Their emails are now threatening me with defamation under tort law. This is utterly ridiculus. I have been successfully using Homestars for many years and this is my first negative experience. My last 3 reviews on Homestars were 10/10, so I am not a difficult customer. Always remember that it is service that defines a company. I have successfully used Homestars for many years and this is my first first negative experience. My last 3 reviews on Homestars were 10/10.

Technicians were friendly, well-organized, neat and tidy. They took time to explain each step and included things like the dryer vent and furnace. We used another company for over 25 years but will now change to Dial One going forward. Great job!

In general, we are a very fussy and detail-oriented people. We used Aquata for our bathroom renovation and I must say, we were very impressed by their workmanship, politeness and cleanliness. Peter is very organized and treated our home very respectfully. He was always punctual and completed the work on time and to our satisifaction. We had no issues and we didn't have to make any changes. The entire renovation went perfectly as planned. Peter's assistant Nick was also hardworking and polite. Peter also recommended a good supplier for all our purchases including the faucets, vanity etc. We took advantage of his contacts. Overall we are very satisfied with Aquata's work and would strongly recommend them. We will definitely use Peter again.

Thank you for the wonderful review! I love working with detail-oriented people especially when they bake cookies for us as Lorraine did. I hope your kids enjoy their bathroom as much as we did building it!
