Alex (salesperson) was quick to respond to my email inquiry for a quote on new carpet. He came by same day with samples to show me. That's where the positives end. I ordered a light coloured carpet - it ended up dirty from dirt, etc. dragged from the removal of the old carpet by the installers feet. Not their fault (although maybe good idea to vaccum up the dirt, dust etc. to avoid tracking it). I reached out to Alex who came by to see the issue (along with the installers). I was made to feel by Alex like I was seeing things even though it was obviously footprints. He actually said to me "you know, when you get light coloured carpet, it's going to get dirty". Inappropriate and completely unhelpful comment, also contradiction to his saying he didn't see the issue. In the end he used a spot remover on each step that really did nothing but at that point I wanted him to leave my home. He was condescending and rude to me. A week or so later and I've just had the installers back to my house to tighten up the carpet as there were several stairs with a large ripple in the carpet midstep. Twice Alex sent the installers to my house without my knowing when I wasn't home, so lack of communication there. Once they tightened up the carpet, one of the installers told me "I've never had to come back for one job so many times". To which I responded it wasn't exactly a pleasant experience for me either. Upsetting experience overall, I will never go with Argos again nor would I recommend to anyone. Perhaps there are other Salespersons who are more pleasant to deal with, Alex is not one of them.

I’m struck by the fact that very recently there have been a number of consistently positive reviews on this site. This strikes me as odd seeing as there hasn’t been snow on the ground in months. And the reviews went from almost 100% negative I almost 100% positive. This seems fishy to me and further confirms that this is not a company I would ever want to deal with again in the future.

Nothing odd about this at all. I’ve asked my clients to provide a review on their-positive experience and service. As much as you would like to disbelieve, Metro has thousands of very happy clients over the many years. It’s just human nature that people are prone to provide negative comments versus positive one unless requested to do so.

I approached this company based on all the positive reviews, and I was not disappointed. From the owner Fabien to Allan and Dylan who did the installation of my new eavestroughing, the whole experience was professional, positive and friendly. They showed up on time and did a great job. I would recommend them to anyone.

Your driveway will be missed consistently. You will be phoning the company and will a) be unable to leave a message bc voicemail is full or b) leave a msg and get no call back when you specifically ask for one. You will get emails that are borderline rude and aggressive from the president of the company, the tone of which makes it sound like customers have no right to complain about poor service. I've hired metro for the past few years and I believe they've taken on more than they can handle. I will absolutely not be renewing my contract next year. I could handle a few missed clearings, but the customer service is absolutely lacking and that's what will keep me away. UPDATE: I've politely requested a refund because I was so dissatisfied with the service this year. I was told it would take 10-14 business days. It has now been three weeks and my repeated email inquiries are being ignored. Next step is for me to visit their office. After that, it's Better Business Bureau. Unacceptable customer service.

Every customer has the right to complain at any time. And we encourage feedback.
Just not in a rude, aggressive or belligerent manner.
I've been nothing upfront about this policy every year since 2005.
