We have an enormous garden in Oakville which has no lawn whatsoever. Although my husband and I have been gardening for many years, we have found that, as we get older, having such an enormous garden requires bringing in some well-educated help from time to time. We did that this summer, when the weeding and general upkeep really began to fall behind. Margaret Ramsay and her hard working crew were an immense help. We were astounded at how hard they worked, even in intense heat, and what is also a huge advantage, is that they know which is a weed and which is not. They are pleasant and experienced and we are happy to recommend The Perennial Gardener crew. Our garden once again looks great. We intend to make this service a part of our regular summer habit.

We hired Oak stone Interlocking this summer to relay the sunken areas of our very large interlock driveway and patios. Tom and his helper were extremely good workers. They meticulously removed the existing stone, raised the underlayment, and replaced the original bricks. They then power washed all of the brick areas, as well as our deck. This was a huge project not only because we have so much interlock all around the home, but because they first had to move all of our large planter pots and patio furniture off the surfaces. The finished job is beautiful and everything looks like new. Once the stone was clean, they also replaced all of our huge pots and furnishings. We could never have done this ourselves. We have had 2 patio doors supplied and installed by Beverley Hills Home Improvements about a month ago. The sales person was the same one who came last year when we purchases 6 new replacement windows. Those 6 windows are still looking great and working well a year later. Our new patio doors are also excellent so far. Our previous doors were original to the home (1985) and, although they were not entirely worn out, they were extremely heavy to slide. I guess I could have struggled with them another couple of years, but we liked the options that the sales person showed us and are very happy with the new doors. They are in an dark charcoal colour which I like much better than white. They are ridiculously easy to operate and to latch closed. We should have changed our doors long ago. They completed the installation in one day, and were the same crew that we had replace the 6 windows last year. They do a nice tidy job, work well together, clean up after themselves, close the gates so the dogs don't get out, and are friendly and pleasant. We are very happy with the company, in general.

For quite a number of years now, we have rented heating and cooling equipment from Reliance. We would normally own our furnace and air conditioner, but once we looked into the renting option, we decided to go ahead. Our current furnace is our second rental furnace from Reliance. The first one, which we enjoyed for 11 years, was a high efficiency model. Our monthly heating bills dropped dramatically once we got rid of the old furnace which was in the home when we moved in. Once high efficiency air conditioners became available, we opted for a new package with high efficiency furnace, AC, air cleaner, humidifier, and water heater. Part of the service is replacement of any failed parts, replacement of filters, and annual inspection. We have now had this new package about 4 years and are happy with the costs of the package and with our low heating and cooling costs. There have been several repair incidents over the years which would have been very costly if we had had to pay them directly. Just be sure to request an actual Reliance employee for services. They are extremely well educated and professional.

We needed the four basement windows and two second floor bathroom windows replaced in our home as they were original to the house and 25 years old. We found the sales people to be friendly, knowledgeable, and organized. This company has been in business a great many years. The office staff were pleasant and also very organized as far as informing us when measures, installation and payment would take place. The installation went very well. Three men showed up and they all worked well together and proceeded efficiently. The basement windows were a little difficult but they worked through the issues calmly and finished the job in good time. The finished job looks great and they cleaned up afterwards. We recommend them highly and are happy with the final result.

In 2001, Denis and his crew installed a large ( 4 ft x 4 ft) skylight and a smaller for us. Both were Velux. We have been very happy with them for the past 10 years. The job was well done and they kept the area clean. Recently, the large one leaked a tiny bit. The leak was so minor that we debated whether it was actually a leak or condensation, and should we call in Denis to fix it at all? It did not leak for the following month while we decided, although there had been heavy rains and storms. It had not leaked all winter or ever before. When there's a 4 foot hole in your roof, you do fix it. With the rainy spring, scheduling the repair was tricky, but eventually, there was a good day to go ahead. Denis sent two polite young men and a repair kit. They spent 3 hours removing the glass, cleaning the channels, installing the kit and glass, and carefully caulked it all. It is now guaranteed for another ten years. We're happy with the work and would not hesitate to recommend Denis and his crew. They are very knowledgeable and do not rush the job to get to the next one.
