Mike and David from The Irish Plumber in Kanata came to my house to fix a sewer drain clog. Dave spent 3 hours then Mike joined him for another hour and a half but couldn't fix the problem. I was charged $1385 for an incomplete job. Mike then gave me a second quote of $1600 to cut the basement and replace the pipe. I called for a second opinion from my friend who is a construction worker. He rented a machine that cost $85 and fixed the problem within an hour. Lesson learned: do your home work before calling a plumber!

Company Response

Hi Christine

Iam sorry if you think that you were misled but we clearly showed you with our drain camera that you had a sag in your building drain under the basement slab .

We cleared the blockage showed you that the pipe was clear except for a 25 ft section that had standing water in it even after we cleared the blockage.
When the camera goes into water then comes out and there is no clear blockage that means you have an issue with the pipe that is not sloped properly .

You wasted your friends time and another $85 , he did not fix anything because the drain was already cleared by us .

Your drain will block again in a couple of months and then maybe you will realise what we were talkin about .
