I was actually contemplating on posting a review on line for the past several days now. This isn’t something that I normally do but in this case, it was something I thought I needed to do in order to prevent what I had gone through to happen with anyone else. I was introduced to Max through a referral and contracted him to do a complete a renovation on my master bedroom washroom as well as build a shower for a second washroom. Now a project he quoted me 2 weeks is still uncompleted. The work started on Aug 2 2017. After several weeks of trying to get a hold of max, via phone and Whatsapp messager, and leaving him countless voicemails, now it has gotten to a point where he just messaged and told to find a new contractor. In regards to payment he has received all ($12,220) but $480 and that to because a lot of the work still needed to be fixed. He said he needed the money so I trusted him and paid him because he seemed like an honest person. This was where I made my biggest mistake as he had taken on another project prior to completing my work. I saved up for the past 4 years to do this reno and just to give you a picture of how this construction has gone. As mentioned earlier he was contracted to renovate 1.5 washroom which included building 2 custom showers. He has needed to re-tile 2 of the shower walls because of the wall tilling was all bumpy and the grout lines were not even aligned (very rushed and off by several cm). Then in 1 of the showers when he put, the mosaic tiling on the floor he didn’t give it a proper slope so the water didn’t even drain. It builds up in several sections of the shower floor and just remains there. The tub he installed in the master bedroom is not usable at all as it shakes and moves because he didn’t secure it in. The faucets jet system he install caused major water damage just 2 days after he stated it was tested and working ( he has not returned ever since he found out about the water damage or returned any phones calls). There was water leak causing major water damage all the way to the main floor ceiling as well as damage in the master bedroom walls and in the second washroom walls. Look as of right now I just seem like a random person on the internet ranting about some construction work. But what I will say is this everything I mention, including receipt of payment!!, is recorded in our whatsapp conversation. All the damages I have pictures and some videos even. I have sent to all these to Max and asked him come and correct his work however after weeks of minimal response, that too via text, and avoiding all my phone calls I’m now left with finding different contractor. As he finally just told me to find someone else and has refused to complete the work he was contracted to do. Max in general seems like a nice person however his quality of work and work ethic require much work. With so much damage done to my home this renovation has just turned into a nightmare. I have saved up for almost 4 years to do this and its horrible how this is turning out. The cherry on top of this is that he has my washroom posted on his Instagram page captioning “another happy client”. I mean come on. Look I don’t’ know how he is with other work but when it comes to pluming and tiling, he is absolutely not recommended. What I will say is this. Do not take my word for anything or even Max’s word. If there was a way I would just email the whatsapp conversation log to anyone was considering this company and let them judge for themselves. If you still insist on contracting him I will not recommend you pay no more that 20 % until the full completion and inspection of the work is done. I just got suckered in by the positive reviews (under 2 dozen which isn’t really a lot) however I didn’t take in consideration many people don’t even bother giving review especially ones that are just fed up and want to move on.
