I found Boris of Toronto Mavens via the numerous 5-star reviews on Google and Homestars, and am happy to say that he lived up to the praise! Our microwave went down before we were to host Thanksgiving dinner, and Boris was prompt to respond. He kept us posted throughout with regard to his timing, parts, and arrivals, and we were back up and running in short order. In addition to his expertise with the appliance repair, we appreciated Boris' integrity, cleanliness, and obvious care to get the job done as quickly, efficiently, and cost-effectively as possible. Thank you again for your help, Boris!

We used to be "those neighbours". The ones who were too busy with our jobs, a young child, and life, to be able to provide the TLC our lawn needed to keep up with the well-manicured lawns of our neighbours. Enter Lawnsavers, who after a few months in year 1 was able to get our lawn to the point where our neighbours were asking us for advice! Unfortunately the only advice that we could give was for them to call Lawnsavers too :) This was our second year with Lawnsavers, and we just signed up for a third. We appreciate the on-going communications, expertise, and great service the technicians always provide, and look forward to another weed-free year together! p.s. Special shout-out to Rudy, who worked quietly and efficiently so as not to disturb me that I didn't even know he was there!

We have been waiting for 6 years to have the exterior of our house painted, and now that it is done, we can honestly say that it was worth the wait! Coady was the first to respond when I submitted a request for estimates via Homestars, and despite speaking with some of the other vendors, decided to proceed with Brushwerks. Coady and his team's professionalism, experience, and desire for perfection were clear, and we proceeded with an agreement for them to paint the exterior of our house + the master bedroom. Unfortunately the rainy weather delayed some of the work, but Coady worked hard to ensure that we were updated on the plan, and brought in extra team members to get the work done quickly. After the work was done, Coady and Adam came back to the house and took it upon themselves to do a quality assessment. While we were already very happy with the work, there were areas that they wanted to improve upon and make perfect, and they spent the time to do so. We would recommend the Brushwerks team to anyone, and thank Coady, Adam, Greg, and Thom for all of their beautiful work!

We engaged Aquamaster to waterproof our home and install a sump pump and could not be happier with their work and customer-oriented service. Upon contacting Aquamaster, Fedor called within 10 minutes and came out the next day to provide an estimate. Work started the day after that. Throughout the project, their team was professional, punctual, clean, and Fedor went above and beyond to ensure that we understood the issues and our options to resolve them. Sadly, it's rare to find good contractors who call you back, show up when they say they will, and respond promptly to emails/texts. Not only did Fedor do this, but he was also flexible to accommodate the needs of our sleeping baby through the day. Few can say that it's a "pleasure" to have to hire a waterproofing company, but our experience with Aquamaster is as close as it gets. If we could give them 12 out of 10 stars, we would!

We first met Bill when the furnace fan in our old house went down in the middle of Februrary. Knowing that we (and our 2 cats) could not last long without heat, Bill went out at 6am on a Saturday in a severe snowstorm to source the parts and was at our place by 9am. Only later did we find out that it was his wife's birthday! His persistence, creativity to solve the problem, and follow-up to make sure everything was working after the weekend was fantastic. Fast-forward to spring of this year in our new home and Bill was called back to do the furnace/air conditioner check and maintenance. When he got here, I surprised him with a few other requests which he kindly took care of. As a relatively hands-off homeowner, I really appreciated that Bill was able to explain things to me in simple terms such that I am no longer afraid of the mechanicals that run my home.
