We recently contracted Hickory Dickory Decks (out of Brantford, with coordination through the head office in Dundas/Flamborough) to build three decks at our rural chalet style home (two replacements; one new). Will O’Brian, the sales agent, was personable, professional and thorough in taking measurements, advising on costs (every other company we brought in to quote on the job gave us vague numbers and/or lump sum costs), and drawing up the plans (as well as answering our questions and keeping in touch throughout the project). We were invited to the head office to view the various materials available for construction, discuss the options, and review the specific costs for each. It was an easy decision to ‘sign on the dotted line’ at the end of the meeting. The two carpenters who actually built the decks, Justin and Thyan, were exceptionally skilled and diligent, arriving early each morning and working through (even in the rain) to complete the decks in a timely fashion. Their work ethic and attention to detail was remarkable. Justin went above and beyond in designing and constructing a ‘flowing’ staircase at the front door, and the quality of construction was exemplary. The end result is three exceptionally well built and attractive decks (one with a ‘floating’ gazebo at the end) that will stand the test of time and look great for years to come. I would highly recommend this team of young men to anyone considering having a deck built at their home. Outstanding!
