I went with Advantage Moving when moving from our 1-bedroom condo to a house. I paid for a crew of two guys, for $85/hour. They don't start charging until they arrive at your house which is better than most moving companies, from what I've heard. The guys were friendly and said we were well prepared. They properly dealt with floor runners and everything. I felt that these guys were a little slow, and I'm not sure why. THey said a 1-bedroom place normally takes 3 to 3.5 hours, but ours took 5.5 hours. I needed the to pick up some stuff at one house, then go our condo and take everything there, so that first trip took up 1 hour. Still, they were 1 hour slower than expected. The unloading went much faster than the loading, and they were willing to accomodate my request for certain things to be dropped off in the garage. One of the movers put a knee through the back of my IKEA bookcase (you know that cheap wood stuff). They took $25 off my total for this mistake. Overall, I thought Advantage was pretty decent. I was surprised by how long it took (and therefore how much it cost) and disappointed by the hole in the bookcase, but stuff happens when you move.

Wade from MFP Servies Ltd cleaned the furnaces in our new home before we moved in. He came highly recommended because he uses a much more thorough cleaning method than other furnace cleaners. He showed the tiny holes that the previous furnace cleaners had used, and the big one that he uses to really suck out all the hair, etc. He knew that the previous owners had owned a cat just from the furnace cleaning job he did. He did an extremely thorough job as promised. I don't know the technical terms, but he brings in "vipers" or something, and huge hoses to clean out all the furnaces. He taught us how to clean out the furnace filters. He didn't realize we had a central humidifier, so we went out to Rona to get a new filter while he was cleaning and he helped us install it. He then found that the humidifier drainage hose was too old and stiff, and so he offered to fix that with new plastic tubing that he had available in his truck. He charged us $25 extra to do that, which was well worth it. Wade was super friendly. I was worried that I was distracting him from his work because he loved telling his stories. He's a very nice, polite man. I'd highly recommend using MFP Services to get your furnace cleaned. I plan to use them again in 2 years or so.

We had James from Frontline Home Inspections do our home inspection before we bought it. Frontline was recommended by our realtor. He did a great job. He's very thorough and picky, and points out everything potentially wrong. He's also very friendly and fun. He was very helpful in educating us about the things we need to know about our home, being first time home owners. Things like when to turn of the main water line, how often to clean the furnace filter, etc. He left us a very thorough report complete with pictures in PDF format. He also very professional and careful not to create a conflict of interest, but was willing to give us recommendations for businesses like Furnace cleaning if we want his opinion. I'd highly recommend using Frontline Home Inspections.

I'm normally the type of person willing to let things slide, but the service was so unacceptable at Clean to Please that I feel compelled to leave a review. They recently had a Dealathons coupon for 3 hours of cleaning for $39. I bought one of these, planning to have them clean the condo that I was selling. A few weeks after buying the coupon I called for the first time, and there was no answer. I left a message saying I'd like to set up an appointment. They called me back the next day and set one up. I later realized that I needed to change that appointment, so I called again. No answer. In fact, I've never once had them actually answer the phone when I called. They had a threatening voicemail message about how "rude messages will not be returned". I was wonder who would leave that sort of message, but now I understand. I left a polite message. They didn't call me back. I started calling once or twice every day, leaving a very friendly message. Their voicemail talked about being overwhelmed by the business from the coupon. I kept leaving polite messages, but never once got called back. My wife tried randomly calling them early in the morning and actually got an answer. They claimed they were planning to call me back that day (righhhttttt). We rescheduled a cleaning appointment for Wednesday at 4:30, willing to settle on any time in order to make it work for them. Wednesday came and my wife left work early to meet them at the condo. Nobody ever showed up. She tried calling. No answer, she left a message. I tried calling. No answer, left a message. They still haven't called us back after completely skipping our appointment. They have a message on their answering machine saying "If you've missed an appointment, leave your name and number and we'll get back to you." What does that mean? Does that mean if THEY have missed an appointment? Is this a regular occurrence? I understand that they underestimated the amount of interest they would get from a coupon. I understand that they can't fit everyone in. But two things crossed the line for me. You have to return people's calls and tell them you are very sorry, you are too busy, feel free to ask for a refund on your coupon. It's absolutely unacceptable that they booked an appointment and then simply didn't show up. That's no way to run a business. I strongly recommend against using Clean to Please at all. They simply will ignore you.

What could this company do to improve their services?
- Answer their phone - Show up for the appointments they book - Don't blame your customers for getting frustrated at your business mistakes (unable to handle as many coupons as they agreed to sell)
