Action Home Services responded quickly to our request for estimate (thanks, Eugene!). There were some unanticipated (COVID-19-related) delays with starting the job, but as soon as a spot opened up on the schedule AHS moved like lightning. The crew worked diligently and quickly and all work was completed and cleaned up within three days. Kirill was attentive to our needs and priorities for the project and during the work (thanks, K!). There were some additional costs associated with the border treatment we wanted (450), and the installation of sod around the finished patio (150) above the estimated costs. We are very happy with the finished product.

Jeff expertly managed the project from the beginning of the job, providing structure, communicating clearly and promptly about both progress and set-backs; and maintained the job site (our home) in livable conditions for the resident owners (us)! As is so often the case with older houses (100+ years), progress on the planned reno was often interrupted by some unforeseen “quirk” of the house that needed to be resolved. Jeff’s experience, design expertise, and creative approach were all invaluable in finding solutions to these surprise challenges. His encyclopedic knowledge saved us from expensive missteps several times. He managed a multi-function, multi-team crew on a careful rotation to maximize progress within very tight quarters. He was attuned to our vision for our home, and painstakingly attentive to details in creating the kitchen, bathroom, and backyard patio of our dreams. Jeff’s care in respecting our budget was often more rigorous that our own! All costs over his original estimate were only implemented after consultation with us and with our express approval. Jeff was responsive and flexible in addressing our additional requests as they emerged over the course of the 2.5 month project, and provided sound guidance on what additional elements it made sense to include in this project, and which would best be postponed. We have already recommended J. Roberts & Associates to several friends, family, and colleagues!

Darby, Nick, et. al. handled all of our communications in a courteous and professional way - including prompt responses by phone or e-mail - from my original enquiry through to the completion of the job. Darby provided estimates both for waterproofing my basement form the inside, and from the outside. I elected to go with the external approach, including excavation, installation of weeping tile; appropriate barriers and back-fill with gravel. The job was completed as scheduled, to spec, and clean-up was good. I have no hesitation in recommending them.
