2/10

I had Big Sky Patio Cover supply and install my Patio cover (v-pan aluminum) two summers ago, along with aluminum railing on my new deck. Their pricing was good and they got the job done in good time. The problem is that ever since day 1 of the installation of the v-pan cover, it has leaked at the place where it is joined to the house. I have had Big Sky back 2 times, and I called them this spring(2017) again, but their installer wasn’t back yet and they would get a hold of me when he got back. They did call and wanted to come back but because of the last two attempts to fix the issue I wanted to be there when they came out. They said they would come out one evening but that has been almost next to impossible to get something scheduled. I contacted them again a few weeks ago and was told they were very busy with their new install schedule but would try to get out the following week. They didn’t come out, and when I contacted them they said that with some rain we got they had got behind their install schedule and would have to come out this week. When contacting them this week they said their installer had to leave for 10 days and they would come over when he got back. Here is a summary of their two fix attemps. The first time they came back to repair they said it was a problem with the house roof (NOT), and they put a lot of caulking under 2 rows of shingles that are overlapping the new patio cover. Second time out they put a wide aluminum flashing on my roof and overlapping the patio cover. It looks terrible, with excessive caulking visible, and a large wide strip of flashing. This still didn't fix the issue as we noticed after the first rain, post this fix. I called back to let them know still not fixed but apparently too late in season as their installer was gone and would be back in spring. Going forward to this spring; I had my garage roof re-done about six weeks ago and asked the roofing person to look at the v-pan roof to give his opinion. His opinion was that the caulking and flashing was not a very good job, and in his opinion the v-pan was installed with hardly any slope and more than likely the rain was just not draining. I had informed Big Sky about this and they were supposed to come over and lower the one side of the v-pan to give more drainage. Today I sent a text to not bother coming out, and that i am not happy and would be going with a different solution. this means another company, and more money put that should not have to be spent by me. I must say that Big Sky has always been friendly and courteous, but i just don’t have faith that they can, once and for all fix the leaking issue, and I don’t appreciate that Big Sky feels that putting new customers before existing customers with issues since day one is acceptable. The only acceptable response is to have them refund at least part of my money. I think that not wanting them to come back after the initial install and two other failed attempts to fix is more than fair on my part.
