Two years ago, in desperation to find out what was irritating me at home, and after already using the services of another company that searches for bed bugs with a trained dog, I called on Mohammed to help. He was very thorough and identified my issues with carpet beetles and also found a bed bug larvae in a tenants room. We fitted the beds with protectors and the bed legs with special holders that prevent movement of any bugs to the bed. As of April of 2017 we have had no issues. It was a stressful time with quotes of $5000 plus without inspection to kill any bugs that may or may not be there. He saved me a lot of money and put my mind at ease. I recently contacted him after seeing what looked like a menacing beetle one might see in a tropical country in our window pane. He replied immediately with a full description of what turned out to be a stag beetle. In 52 years, i’ve never seen one and my kids were terrified as it was in their bedroom window. I was able to reassure them right away they are not a threat in any way. I would highly recommend his service, particularly since bedbugs and carpet beetles look similar and can both cause reactions on the skin, one from biting and one from irritants before you spend money to nuke your house.

It's been a few week since Mohamed (Bed Bugs 101 Canada) came to inspect space in my home after a tenant complained of bites. He was highly recommended by a neighbour who had a bed bug problem, as he was very thorough and solved her problem permanently. I had in the meantime caught a tiny bug that looked very much like a bed bug. Mohamed, being a very knowledgeable entomologist, immediately recognized the insect as a carpet beetle, similar in size to bed bugs, informing me that they do not bite/feed on humans, but live on or in dusty areas, like boxsprings and rugs/carpets. But that hypersensitive people may have allergic reactions to their presence, ie. , very similar or worse than bed bug bites. Funny enough, I was having problems in my own bedroom with a rash 6 months previous that 9 doctors could not figure out after having my house inspected by a canine for bed bugs. The problem with canines is that they only look for bed bugs, period. Hiring an experienced entomologist will look for all critters that may be causing distress or just annoyance. Lo and behold, not only did my tenant's room have carpet beetles, but so did mine; mystery solved. I vacuumed, encased both beds, washed my area rugs and put specialized cup traps on the feet of my bed. Carpet beetles are more common than you think, but you would probably never know you have them unless you were having allergic reactions to them. Mohammed followed up two weeks later to make sure everything was good. I wish I had hired him sooner. Canine's success rate is far from perfect and only a thorough inspection by a specialist, not a technician, can really get to the bottom of your pest issues.
