Toronto Roofing Industries has replaced about 10 roofs for Riverdale Co-op in the past four years, ranging from small shingled porches to large flat roofs. Their pricing is always fair, delivering a high quality installation with a friendly and professional attitude. It's great to have them in the community, and I highly recommend their work. Sobol first competed with several other contractors for my window and door replacement projects, in Riverdale Co-op, which owns a number of co-op housing buildings in the downtown east end. After the first set of projects was done, I was most impressed with Archie and his installers. They are knowledgeable and focused on customer satisfaction. Any problems that surfaced during or after the installation have been promptly and professionally dealt with. Sobol continues to do work for Riverdale Co-op. I highly recommend Archie and his team. I work for a housing co-operative in the east end of Toronto which owns a townhouse complex. Contex replaced 6 patio roof membranes in the complex. The work went fairly well and quite quickly, though the quality of work on aluminum siding repairs, needed after the roofing work was done, was not great. And, after the work was completed, one roof leaked at a joint between the new membrane and an adjacent older patio roof. Contex showed up within a few hours to deal with the leak. In the meantime the co-op organized water damage remediation. The extent of the damage was relatively minor, a corner of the living room below the patio, but it was a real intrusion into the household involving the use of drying equipment, injection of anti-mould compounds, carpet replacement etc. The co-op paid for this work. They asked Contex to pick up the cost of the water damage remediation except for the carpet, as the carpet was old anyway and due for replacement. While Contex's roofer sub-trade showed up on site to repair the damaged drywall ceiling and patch paint, Contex itself, has refused to accept responsibility for any of the water damage costs claimed by the co-op -- about $2,950.

We have done a number of projects for Rod over the years that have been successful, maybe ten projects with no issues unresolved. Can we request 10 out of 10 for the first ten projects Rod? All joking aside, our position is that the adjacent balcony was in failing condition already. It is hard to tie into a roof with very little integrity. We were prepared to pay for the repairs to the drywall but we disputed the clean up costs. Sometimes when insurance companies are called in, the SWAT team pulls up and costs seem inflated and sensationalized. Having said all this, we felt we were being reasonable noting that the other balcony could have been leaking for some time anyway. Sorry Rod, maybe we can make it up on the next one.
