From start to finish it was great dealing with this company. Natasha at the office was right on top of everything and made sure I was kept informed. Michael was very polite and professional. Provided a quote and finished the job quickly. Highly recommend this company.

We were looking forward to renovating our property but sadly this has turned into a nightmare. Some of the issues we had with Grant Renovations: -Kept on delaying our start date and most times there was only 1 employee working at a time. -Our contract clearly identified that contractor will handle all permit issues etc. But Ben Grant started demolition without any valid permit and we had to shut down the job when the inspector arrived. The permit was filed long after the demo began. This contractor does not know the right rules and regulations! -Appliances arrived but they did not check to ensure everything was alright. Turns out the dishwasher is completely banged up. Also, we had to reschedule some of our deliveries multiple times as the team did not show up to work on time. Punctuality is not their strength! -Fire places were ordered in Jun and eventually started installation in mid September to find out its a defected piece. Likely not able to return at this point as this has sat for so long. Waste of money! -Live wires were left open and caused sparks quite a few times and shocked people. After many complaints it was finally addressed. -Ordered way more materials than needed. Almost double of everything -hardwood, tiles, paint etc. So much money wasted. -Does not manage nor monitor the work his employees are doing. Ex: it took 2 guys a whole day to put up 3-5 sheets of dry wall. When I complained, Ben's response is "I am doing what I can!" -Shows up late to work, takes long lunches, leaves for hours at a time leaving the employees unsupervised and delaying the job but leaves right on time at the end of the day. -Did not show up for 1.5weeks because of other projects he was working on and couldn't manage his resources for both jobs. But chose to tell me "The guys quit because they are uncomfortable with you coming in and out of the house and asking questions.". Funny that he returned to the job with the same guys a week and a half later. -Generally very very slow pace and very sloppy finishing. Grade A procrastinator. -Very punctual about payments. Threatens to not show up if no payment is received. Prioritizes employees schedule over that of the project, mixes personal issues with business (kept on complaining about being late on his rent, fights with his wife etc.), belligerent when reminded that he owes us the work that he is yet to deliver. -Complained that he made a mistake with the quote and did not charge us enough. Apparently not the first time he made this mistake! -Complained about incurring excessive costs for dumping etc. While he had the bin parked on my driveway he let my neighbours dump stuff and a lot of the times the things in it were not even from our job but rather other jobs he was working on. When asked he responded saying "I am paying for it anyway!". Well not really. The customer is! -Renovation which was to be completed on Jul 07 remains incomplete as of today Sep 27. Almost 3 months behind schedule! We have terminated our contract with him and he still seemed hopefull stating "It's almost done!" -The payments were scheduled weekly but should have been done based on work completed. This is how he drags his feet through all left with nothing but headaches. -He is a very small shop. Does not have the resources to run multiple jobs at a time and definitely does not have the skills to manage large projects (time and money!). -BEST TO AVOID!
