Cetin has a high standard that he ensures is met by the experienced workers he brings in. He oversees every detail and dropped in everyday to ensure we were happy with the progress. Brick house insulated with 2" Styrofoam, stucco, and a stone front took exactly as long as we were told and at no extra cost. It's 4 degrees outside today, funance doesn't seem to turn on as much now. Even better...we don't hear the cars passing outside anymore, very quiet inside. My experience with this company, without getting into details, left me to believe their office has more work than they can handle and the level of customer service from the office is less than what one would expect. The positive side of this company was the workers on site. Very hard working guys and they do their best to work through any problems to finish the job to your liking. I hired this company to replace a layer of saw dust, celulose, and batt insulation with spray foam and celulose to R60.

I shopped around online but dreamscreens is the only company i could find that can install inside the door frame. After getting a fair quote, i ordered a single door pet screen with a latch. The day of installation i unfortunately was not satisfied with the workmanship. The president (Elizabeth) was very accessible and listened to my concerns. She certainly cares and quickly rectified the problem. The screen is fantastic. I would do business with them again because of the product quality and the integrity of the president. A week later, I look at the screen and it seems very much like all others in my house. Odd since it was supposed to be a pet screen and im pretty sure they are thicker. I look at the invoice and pet screen is not mentioned. Buyer beware. Dropping my rating.

A few years ago I did quite a bit of research on a new furnace and air conditioner. I purchased the Lennox brand from cosmopolitan after meeting Anther Hassan. He was honest and professional. As part of my warranty, I scheduled the yearly maintenance for today. Anther arrived on time and got to work. He is very thorough and efficient. Happy with the services from this company.

Andy does it all from providing a quote to completing the work and wow does he do great work. I searched for someone to open the ceiling to expose a skylight that was installed last year as part of a new roof. Andys skylights was the only company to go into the attic to see what needed to be done before accepting the job!! The others did not. Look at pictures of his work. Price was excellent too. Read his website and meet the man. You will see he is a very trustworthy skilled person. Love the results and we were so comfortable with Andy, we gave him the door key to come and go as he pleased during the 5 day job.

After searching various companies and getting a few quotes, Smith Metal Works was the best choice for a security gate and stair rail. When I first called, a date was immediately arranged for a site visit. Tarek came on time and when i showed him the design i found on a different company website, he was surprised and said it was his creation! He showed me a huge inventory of designs, gave a very fair quote, and I hired him. Gradually I learned Tarek is the company owner and doesn't just give quotes, he follows through with you until completion. Rare these days. That might have been why i got above average customer service. In fact, tarek is professional, very knowledgable, and cares about his reputation. The end product is better than the pictures. Very strong. Perfect. Smith Metal Works should absolutely be at the top of the Homestars list (and this opinion has nothing to do with my last name...smith).

This review is for work done by Interlock Industries (ONT) Inc based in Mississauga. I did A LOT of research on the material options (aluminum, metal, and asphalt shingles). I chose aluminum shingles mostly because I do not intend on selling my house and I do not want to re-roof again in retirement. Also, I am very skeptical about all roofing warranties so hopefully I will never need to refer to mine. Dave provided a competitive quote and I liked the underlayment and aluminum shingle samples he showed me. I chose to have a ridge vent installed with snow guards and a skylight too. The work was to start and end within the month of April. I was told "Tony" will be the installer. I got a call informing me of the exact start date and when the date came, Tony worked from morning until evening almost everyday until he finished. Everyday, Tony did a satisfactory clean up around the house before he left. In my opinion, Tony is a very honest hardworking and skilled man. Look at the pictures to see his work. I was skeptical about the ridge vent letting moisture and heat out but it seems to be working fine. The snow guards are doing their job too. Overall, I would recommend aluminum roofing from this company. I like the look and the satisfaction of knowing that my shingles won't blow up during a major storm as my asphalt shingles did last summer. I really can't see how any water can penetrate the roof and I don't even hear the rain hitting the roof. Flashing appears to be done really well and very clean. My only recommendation would be for Tony to start teaching his skill to some new installers rather than doing everything himself. Raccoons should have much difficultly walking up there and most surprisingly so far...the inside of my house seemed cooler during the summer. Everyone should at least ask for info and a quote.

9pm on Saturday night, I noticed the house getting cold and the furnace not working. I opened the furnace panel and saw that the gas was igniting but it was shutting itself off after 5 seconds. I called the companies listed on Homestars above this one to find someone to come to my house to fix the furnace. Nobody answered their phone or were not available. WHEN I CALLED AIRHEATINGPLUS, I spoke with Renato Boskovic (manager). He diagnosed my problem OVER THE PHONE!!! Mr. Boskovic told me what to do to fix it. It was like he had a picture of my 15yr old furnace in front of him as he described where I needed to look and what I should do. Absolutely amazing. Mr. Boskovic is someone I would trust with my property anytime. Thank you again Mr. Boskovic for helping me at such a bad time and saving me at least $150. When the time comes to replace my furnace, I have you in mind.

House built 1912. I needed my chimney rebuilt, tuckpointing in various areas around the house and deteriorated bricks needed to be replaced. I did some research on the work needed (right outside temp for brick work, mortar type, brick type, etc). I had about 5 quotes mostly from last fall. This spring (Apr 2010) I chose this company partly because they called me to find out if the work was done already. The only company to remember my house. Another reason I chose this company is because Andy was honest with me. He was not the cheapest of the 5 quotes but my house is not the easiest to work on either. I thought Andy was fair and his employees were hardworking professionals. Well worth the money. Chimney looks proper, bricks match very well, mortar matches perfectly.

Work done dec2009. I obtained a few quotes but Alex from Mr Rooter was the only one that would do the work and showed me their price was their standard for the job. No scam here. The price was for labour, the pump, and PVC pipes. Alex clearly put some thought into how the water will flow once it's pumped up the pipe and out of the house. He designed the system very intelligently. I wanted the water pumped from the basement to the front lawn. Alex made it so the water wouldn't freeze in the pipe once it was pumped out and it wouldn't flow back into the basement. I didn't expect all the thought that went into the job. I'm glad I chose Mr Rooter and I'd be confident about hiring Alex again. Everything works great so far. And I still don't want the video pipe inspection :)

I had a leak around my chimney. It developed into more than just a leak. My chimney was under 3ft tall, against building code. Flashing was installed and I called this company to build the chimney up to code. It looks like he did good job building, I didn't have to wait long, I'm confident he knew what he was doing and he had my budget at the top of his mind. I wish I had done more research on the type of brick he was going to use because it doesn't match the old (like I had asked) and the bright white flashing he used doesn't fit with the house. I'll have to paint it. He's a good builder but I guess I need to pay more if I want nicer looking construction. I'd hire him again but would pay more attention and probably money.

Nov 2008, my roof started leaking badly because there was no flashing around the chimney for some odd reason. More rain was on the way so I called a couple companies for quotes. Randy of All Cities Roofing clearly had experience. He waists no time explaining the problems and offers solutions to fit your budget. No BS. Randy had other work to complete but came to my house whenever he could find some time. I didn't need to call him once because the repairs were done quickly and done very well. Check Better Business Bureau...he's a member since 2005.

Last year, I hired home depot to install a new Trane furnace (no payment for 1yr). They sent two guys to do the job. One was a young apprentice who didn't get enough supervision here. I'm sure he stepped on my aluminum gutters when he went up to the roof. He bent it badly out of shape. Of course he didn't say anything. They also should have installed a B vent in the chimney to safely vent the hazardous gas. Now I'm paying another company to do this for $200.

I called and asked for same day service and surprisingly, they called back seconds later to say someone was on the way to give me a quote. The electrician showed up on time, good attitude, and went straight to work after giving me a quote (for the job, not per hour). It was more expensive than I expected but I have no doubt the work was done properly and to code. While working, he pointed out other electrical issues to be done in the future.

Knowledgeable employees but they're very busy. Good luck trying to get them to your house within the month. Then once they arrive, the work is done quickly but don't expect them to clean up after themselves. I found electrical tape and pieces of pipe in various places inside and outside. I called an electrician to finish the hookup and he mentioned that the electrical cable they used was too small for the 3/4hp pump. It will last for 2yrs at least. After that is unknown. Still, I think Union pumps is one of the better installers out there.

I hired this company to drill a well to supply water to my house feb2008. I called a couple other companies to compare but A&H Drilling made the effort to give a free detailed estimate in person and on paper. They also researched local wells and inquired with neighbors regarding their Well water depth and GPM. He answered my questions and the job was done a week later. The price is high for my wallet($8000) but fair considering the time/effort the workers spent trying to develop the Well. They found a spot producing 10GPM. No complaints.

I contacted Paul at Stumps Only because I was trying to plan ahead for when I found someone to take down my dead tree. The problem was I couldn't find a tree service in the LMD that would come cut the tree. I called almost all the tree services in the phone book. When I called Paul and told him he could grind the stumps if he could find a tree service, he found one the next day and all the work was done the next week. He did a good job for a fair price and kept a great attitude, despite the rock bolder he encountered inside one of the stumps (he had tools to take care of that bolder too). Thanks again Paul.

I called Jiggs Tank Service because I thought my underground septic tank was full. I told them water was draining slowing from the bathroom and was staying in the drain pipe. John arrived the next evening. He was actually expected around 2pm but had called me to advise he was having severe traffic problems, and wasn't sure if he'd make it to my house this day. He knew I had dug a hole in my backyard so he could access my tank. When I thought he wasn't going to show up (now dark outside), he called again and told me where he was...still determined. He arrived and ensured my drains were working well, cleaned my tank and took time to give advice. The price could always be lower (165) but I'll call them again in a few years.

2yrs after installation, the Stayclean gutters work well draining water but their claims were somewhat misleading. See photo. Contrary to their claims, not even a strong wind will blow needles off the gutters..wet or dry. Although it doesn't clog unless ice freezes on it. I didn't have a good experience with the workmanship of the employees (which seems to have now changed their name, maybe they sold? guess my 10yr warranty is void) but the product is ok. Notice the window in the photo...it doesn't open anymore because the gutter was installed in front of it. That's the same spot where water poured down the wall instead of the other direction.

I signed a 3yr contract (approx$450 per yr for monitoring) and specifically told the sales person that I wanted to own the system when the contact expires. He told me I could buy it from them in 3yrs. This wasn't written in the contract and I'm kicking myself because the contract says "equipment remains property of ADT" in small print. I've had no problems with the system...only problems with customer service. Now that the contract is expiring :), I'm trying to get ADT to tell me the cost of the system so they don't take it off my walls. They told me a year ago it was $599. They won't give me a price now and don't return my calls. The "Escalation Center" is supposed to call me now after I've already spoken to Dana, Natasha, Janet, Pearl. Two people in another province and various customer service people in the USA...that's where my calls were often transfered. Stay away from ADT!
