Last Oct./2016 signed contract along with deposit to have new metal roof installed. Advised by London Sales Rep. they will start roof in 4 to 6 weeks and not to worry because they install roof all year round,even during the winter months and it will be done before Christmas. Jan.2017 still no start, followed up with London Eco- Metal roof of when they will start. They advised they were very busy and was not able to start my roof yet. Jan.2017 had a heavy rain and water leaking in ,Advised London Metal roof of problem,they advise me they are just finishing up a roof and my roof will be next. Followed up again close to end of Jan.2017, I was advised they were having trouble finding an installer, it appears London Metal roof manufactures and supplies all metal to a roofing contractor they hire to install their product I do not know if they even have their own roof installation staff. Wed. Feb.8 they advise me since there was no back lane, they will drop all material off on front lawn,two skids of wood and roofing material, good thing the ground was frozen, otherwise lawn would be damaged. Thurs. Feb. 9 work starts for one day and returned on Mon. Feb.13 to continue,They advised roof will be complete early on on Tue. Feb.14.took time off work to meet them,still not done,advised they will be done Sat. Feb.18. Getting dark, they are still not done. In closing, I was to do the roof again, I would go with a company that does not require a deposit and I would have them include in the contract a start finish date. I notice there are a number of roofing companies that don't ask for a deposit or would ask for part payment when the material is delivered or even just full payment once job is complete. Maybe these companies would provide better service since they know you can go to another company .I realize all work that is exposed to the elements is controlled by the weather ,but I feel putting a deposit down and having to wait for over three months before any start of work is totally unacceptable.
