I have a number of trees and shrubs on my property that had been ignored for years and looked awful. Several were so overgrown that they blocked the light to everything underneath them, killing other plantings. Owner James Clarke, provided a competitive quote and the job was done by a knowledgeable crew who were polite and professional. Arrived on time, took me on a walk thru to confirm what was to be done, did another walk thru to ensure I was satisfied, removed all of the cuttings, did a last walk thru and left the property looking great. Recommend Mr. Tree Man without hesitation.

Denis, you won't remember me but your crew installed a new skylight in my husband's office on Duplex Avenue when the previous 15 year old skylight (NOT installed by you) failed. That was last January and I was worried when we got that terrific rain storm back in August as well as with the weight from the Great Toronto Ice Storm and the ernormous snow loads we've had since then. But it's been FLAWLESS and I couldn't be happier. I'm not the least bit surprised you've won the HomeStars "Best of 13" Award for the 5th year in a row. Certainly deserved. Keep up the good work. I called Tom on a Friday because the 23 year old lock on our front door finally died. We couldn't get in the front door and couldn't lock it from the inside. He came on a Sunday at no extra charge. He replaced the internal cylinders on the lock and put a flip lock on the inside so we no longer needed a key to lock it from the inside. He was also able to key the lock to the existing keys which saved me quite a bit of money and hassle in not having to give new keys to family and friends. He didn't try to sell me a more expensive new lock and was professional and friendly and had the job done in 15 minutes. I am very pleased with the work he did and highly recommend him.

I recently received a letter from the City of Toronto informing me that they were installing water meters on the homes in my area. I arranged for an installer to come and was horrified to discover that the pipe coming in from the water main dated from the mid 70's and was in such bad shape that the meter installer wouldn't touch it. He strongly recommend that I contact a plumber before the pipe failed completely and water started to gush into my basement. In a panic I searched Homestars and phoned 4 plumbers for quotes. Vlad from Mister Plumber came to my home at 7:30 on a miserable rainy night, looked at the pipe, spent 20 minutes explaining what had to be done, went to his truck and wrote out a detailed quote and spent another 15 minutes explaining the quote. The other 3 plumbers arrived over the next 2 days. Although I asked for written quotes, none of them gave me one and 2 of them said they would have to replace all of the galvanized piping in the basement with copper at a price 3 to 4 times what Vlad had quoted. All of this happened during Hurrican Sandy but as soon as it stopped raining Vlad's crew arrived. They were professional, knowledgeable and polite. They were very careful with the lockstone in my driveway and even replaced it (the other plumbers had said they would simply fill the hole with gravel and I would have to hire someone else to replace it). Vlad's crew were very careful to clean up everything and left the basement, the driveway and the outside of the house as if they had never been there. I was extremely pleased with Mister Plumber and would recommend them to anyone looking for plumbing repairs.

One morning in October, after a tremendous rain storm, I discovered that one of my skylights was leaking. What a mess! I started reading reviews on HomeStars and discovered Skylights Unlimited Inc. I called and arranged for quotes from 3 different skylight companies and was quite surprised when the owner of Skylights Unlimited Inc., Denis Charron, arrived at the house. Denis spent far more time than the other 2 companies and carefully examined the skylight and explained that, because of the house settling over the 15 years since the skylights were last replaced, the seal had broken and any 'repair' would be makeshift at best. He drew diagrams to explain how and why the skylight should be replaced and suggested that it was only a matter of time before another skylight, a metre away, would fail as well. The next day he e-mailed me a very competitive quote and I decided to use them for the new skylights. I am enormously pleased with the job that was done. The crew, Jeff and Kevin, were a pleasure to work with: professional, knowledgeable, personable, patient and very skilled. They ran into an unexpected problem because of the roof construction which could have meant tearing out the plywood boxes. A less competent crew would have simply torn out the boxes and left me with the mess and expense of replacing them but Jeff and Kevin managed to solve the problem without damaging the boxes. A neighbour who was a finalist for the "Canada's Best Handyman" television show 'dropped by' halfway through the work and said they were doing an outstanding job. They worked from 9:15 until after 6:00, cleaned up every bit of debris and even swept the driveway and the front porch. Yet another 10 out of 10. A job extremely well done! I would recommend Skylights Unlimited Inc. without reservation.

We've been using Toronto Clear View Window Cleaning 2 or 3 times a year for several years and couldn't be happier with the service. We have 7 skylights in cathedral ceilings on the second floor (which require getting up on the roof to do from the outside) and 4 sets of patio doors and screens as well as first floor windows that require a ladder to reach - a daunting window cleaning job. Brian always arrives on time, gets to work quickly and quietly, takes his shoes off when he's in the house, lays down a sheet to protect the carpets and always makes sure he doesn't let one of our 3 cats escape through an open patio door - hard to do when you're cleaning 4 sets of patio doors. His prices are quite reasonable for the amount of work we need done and the windows sparkle when he leaves. We would highly recommend him and wouldn't think of using anyone else to do our windows or eavestroughs.
