Termax Services operates in ‘tied selling’ which is Illegal in Ontario. We bought a coupon from Living Social to clean the air ducts for $99 – but when they arrive the technician refused to give the service unless we agree to pay $440 for cleaning the Furnace and Air Conditioner. This happened on August 30, 2016. When we rejected the additional costs & service, the technician broke the A/C coil as he was putting the cover back.This left us without any air conditioning during the extreme heat wave(we were over 40'C) at the beginning of September. Through two weeks of multiple phone calls to Termax Services, who had agreed to repair the issue as it was caused by their technician’s negligence, they showed no interest or commitment to sending a technician. It was difficult to get through to a person at any of the phone numbers we had, and when we did the receptionist was non-committal, and even hung up on us twice. We ended up hiring a A/C technician to repair the a/c and it cost us over $1000.
