With Covid Closures in Ontario, I used Ikea's online ordering with Click and Collect at Vaughan. I set an appointment for later that day. Even though you're supposed to wait for an email to tell you when to leave, I have found in my last appointment they don't send the collect emails so I just show up on time for my appointment. This time when I showed up they were turning all the cars away saying they had a technical problem and couldn't resolve without "staying way past the store closing time". I was assured I should wait for the "Start Your Car" collection email and come and pick up the items later in the week. 3 days later, still wanting the items and without the email I called their customer service line and was told that Vaughan had some problems and I should receive the email soon. She also commented at least my order wasn't just cancelled like others she had dealt with. I continued to check my order status every day just in case it changed to indicate the product was ready for pick up ensuring I wasn't just waiting for an email. 5 days after ordering I receive an voicemail message stating since I didn't pick up on Jan 31 they were cancelling my order. Seriously? They know they had an issue that day and they don't give me the option to call back and arrange a time to pick it up? They can't even give you a contact number because they won't take calls in the store "because you know they're closed. " So if you're waiting for an Ikea order you must drop everything you're doing even if you're at work and take a call from a blocked call number because Ikea is too busy to let you call them back. I scramble to call the customer service number to tell them I do want it. The answer I got was "you know the store is closed because of Covid????? Yes, that's what curbside pick up was for. So the 1-866 team can't do anything for you, can't tell you anything, can't update you on order status and you can't call the store. I was told to just try ordering again and wait for the collect email and if I never got it, they would just refund me. I can't believe in 2021 Ikea's system is so archaic. I don't understand why they have appointment slots if you have to wait for a Collect email that never comes. Plus, most of us have to drive a long way to get to Ikea in order to be on time for an appointment that isn't really an appointment. On top of that you pay $5 for the curbside pick up where all they do is wheel your purchase outside for you. Overall really disappointed in Ikea's service. Other companies have done a great job of streamlining their contactless pick ups. In the last week I have used a curbside pick up from Home Depot, Walmart, Structube and Lowes and all of their services are gold star. I guess Ikea really doesn't need our business during the pandemic shutdowns. Just be prepared that your appointment isn't a real appointment at the Vaughan location and you may have to make multiple trips to get your product plus wait for an hour once you get there. It's impossible to reach the store and the 1-866 contact number can't tell you anything about your order so don't bother waiting on hold for 30 minutes. Come on Ikea, be better. Or at least let me talk to a supervisor so you can figure out how to improve your system and processes.

We have been updating our house and our 20 year old kitchen was starting to look dated and just didn't match the style of the rest of the house. We liked the layout, wanted to keep the granite but also wanted to add new cabinets to the ceiling and paint the new and old cabinets to create one "new" seamless looking kitchen. In addition we really didn't want the cost of all new cabinets or to send more waste to the landfill than we had to. We found a cabinet maker who could extend the cabinets but needed a high quality cabinet paint company to bring it all together. After much research we found Booth7 and they were one of the best contractors we worked with - prompt, courteous, tidy and reasonably priced. Mike and his team were excellent throughout the process, kept in constant communication at each stage and we are very happy with the result and the finish. I was worried that there would be damage or overspray on our new floors but there wasn't any at all. Their colour consultant Janine was outstanding and helped us choose a colour that worked with all of our elements ( we didn't want to do just a white kitchen like all the other designers suggested). We highly recommend Booth7, would use them again for any other paint projects and will be referring them to family and friends.

We had replaced the carpeting on our second floor with Preverco Maple and were looking to replace the tired carpet on our main floor and the outdated hardwood in the kitchen. We didn't want to use the same company we had used before as we weren't completely satisfied with their sub contracted installers. Patti-Lynn's team provided great customer service from initial contact, through confirming our measurements and the installers were excellent taking great care and matching the wood to our existing tile and under our kitchen cabinet backsplash perfectly. They were professional, clean and truly talented. We had the job completed in less than a month from quote to installation. I would definitely recommend Patti-Lynn's team for hardwood!

We contracted Falstaff to install potlights in our master bedroom, add a receptacle in our kitchen and move our receptacles in our laundry room so we could install a counter. They are extremely professional and took the utmost care to not damage our popcorn ceiling and ensured that all the lights were equally spaced. The receptacle work was done quickly and efficiently and they left our house clean. I highly recommend using Falstaff for any electrical work.

Contracted Sergej with registered company 750860510 to complete a glass railing for our house and signed a contract and made a deposit payment $2,764 on April 23, 2017. In July 2017 Sergej indicated the deposit with his vendor for the hardware had changed and he required additional payment of $811 which we made in good faith. Delivery and install was planned first by summer of 2017, then fall because he was busy with other jobs, and then by Christmas of 2017 and then in January 2018 and then by March and then by June of 2018 and finally July of 2018. Each time Sergej blamed the delays on being busy at other jobs, then damage incurred during shipping, or damage at his warehouse or he was missing some parts. Finally in July of 2018 he tried to claim again that the glass panels were damaged and he couldn't complete the job. At this point we had removed our railing for the initial planned install in 2017 so by July of 2018 we had to delay selling our house as we still didn't have a railing. At that point after over a year of waiting for the job to be completed he said we should go with another company and he would return our full deposit. We paid more to have another company do the install which they completed in a week. Sergej returned $2000 of our deposit and claimed the e-transfer system didn't allow him to return the remainder which he promised in a week. He continued to promise to return our deposit each month but we never received the remaining $1,054 despite numerous requests which he does occasionally respond to always promising payment by the end of the month. We didn't post a negative review earlier as we were hoping he would live up to his promise to return our deposit. I don't doubt he can do good work, he just didn't start our project and never returned our deposit. We are careful when we hire contractors and Sergej was recommended to us by another contractor but in this case we should have done more homework and not have been so polite and understanding of the "issues" he says he had with his suppliers for 15 months. We reached out to him again today and he has declined our request to return our deposit again. He admits he owes it to us but he doesn't have the money and can't even make a partial payment. I will update this review if we ever receive our deposit back. For now I would not recommend hiring him or at least don't provide any deposits until some amount of work is completed.

The Team at Ontario Tile was extremely helpful in helping us choose all the tiles required for our Master bath renovation. We had visited a number of tile stores and found the team at Ontario Tile to be the most helpful in helping us put together a cohesive look. They helped us choose the floor tile, shower tile, and even recommended using our granite supplier for the ledges around the shower and bath. We had some issues with our installer breaking a large number of tiles and Ontario Tile came through with the replacements we needed quickly to keep our renovation on track. They have a great selection, provide excellent guidance and are competitively priced. I will work with them again for any future projects.

We have used Falstaff on a number of occasions including the install of our foyer chandelier (2 storey), adding additional electrical outlets and pot lights. They are responsive and have even come to do our small jobs within a day and they are competitively priced. We will continue to use Falstaff for all of our electrical projects.

I have used the Hardwood Flooring Store twice now to install Preverco Maple Hardwood in our Master bedroom and then all of our bedrooms and hall. Nick made the whole process simple including loaning us the large sample board so we could see how it would look in our house and providing a detailed, accurate quote. The installers arrived on time and did an excellent job including removal of the old carpet and disposal, the install of shoe moulding and clean up. For our second job Nick came through with install completed in just two weeks and we were able to do it all over the phone. I will use them again when we replace our floors on the main floor.
