We are very happy with the work Mario & Sandy did repairing the areas of damaged brick and mortar around the foundation, along the roof line and at a few other spots on the walls of our 1907 Annex home this spring. They did a superb job blending in the new work with the original brickwork. We love that our historic home has lasted so well over the years and we are so pleased to have found Mario with his depth of knowledge about historic masonry to do the restoration work necessary. I should add, Mario demonstrated good up-to-date safety practices for working-at-heights and Mario and Sandy were pleasant to have around while they did the work and left the work-site very clean after each workday. We also felt lucky they were so comfortable with and tolerant of both our dog and the neighbour's dog (when they had to access the neighbour's yard for some of the work). I would strongly recommend them to anyone who values good craftsmanship and a safe work-site.

We used Earth Concerns for several years (enough that I can't remember how many just at the moment) for a biweekly cleaning of our condo before we bought and moved into a large house this summer (and have since been on an austerity budget). They are a niche market company serving mostly the downtown area. They are focused on providing a 100% environmentally friendly service including their travel to and from the location via TTC always. I don't give them a 10 because they never missed things during a clean. Yes, sometimes this happened and if it did calling the office to have our home list of priority items to be cleaned always fixed that for future cleans. I give them a perfect score because: 1. We were always happy to come back to the condo after they were done and for it to be nice and clean and free of any toxic odours; and 2. We were happy to know that they had excellent labour practices ensuring proper payment and benefits to all their workers. We always felt that this respect they give their workers translated into the very good clean we got and the responsive attitude of the cleaners to any changes we wanted to make in terms of what needed to be cleaned that day. If you have a regular service and a regular cleaner like we did then it is even easier to make adjustment and for them to figure out what your priorities are. If you are in their catchment area and environmentally friendly cleaning and responsible labour practices are priorities for you then this is a company I would strongly recommend. No green washing here. Thanks for so many years of good service, Allison! Hopefully our austerity budget won't last too long!

My husband & I recently moved into a large old downtown home that had only been lived in off and on for a few years and then had some small reno work done to sell that had not been well cleaned up. On top of this there were original radiators in every room that had not been cleaned in years, possibly decades. We moved in and added dust and bits with all our unpacking. My parents were coming to visit and we realized we had to do something drastic. Maret and her crew were real life savers for us. I found her company on Homestars and she came the next day to give us a quote. We were a little shocked at the price but after going through her very detailed quote and thinking about how long it took us to clean various things we realized just how much work was involved. We ended up cutting out a few items, but I insisted those radiators had to stay in! It was the best investment we've made since moving! They arrived first thing in the morning right on time and worked through to 3:30 or 4. They were a team of 5 in the morning and 4 in the afternoon and they were all real workers. My husband and I both have home offices and work from home so we were here the whole day and got to see just how hard they scrubbed and cleaned. They did a great job on the radiators and you could feel the difference in the air after they left. They couldn't make a 100 year old house new but it was really clean. And their own cleaning solution is very effective. They brought all their own equipment and were really well organized. The thing that really struck me was that faced with a filthy thing like a fireplace and grill that hadn't been cleaned in years they didn't give off that feeling like they were depressed at the look of it and didn't really want to clean it and just wanted to be somewhere else. They were all really focused on their tasks and had very good attention to detail. They worked all the hours they said and got a lot more done in that time than I've seen other cleaners do. I would say the thing that makes them so great is Maret's detailed planning, they come prepared and they all know what their tasks are in detail and can work to get it done. She also clearly knows how to hire people with an eye for detail and they seem to have put a lot of thought into their cleaning solution because it works very well. She left some with us at the end of the day and I've been trying it on various items and have been quite please with the results. Thanks so much Maret and team. We will definitely be using your company again in the future.
