We had gotten a few quotes from various companies to insulate our attic. We were most comfortable with the knowledge, cost and - stated "work to be completed" of ecocomfort. We receive the original quote in May 2017 (R60 blown in cellulose top-up package) and they honoured it when I called them back to have the work completed in September. The two gentlemen (Tom and partner) who did the work were real pros. They took their time to assess the work and had an unexpected issue with one of the attic hatches (they rebuilt both of them) but they stayed and worked as long as necessary....was after 9pm when finished. Great cleanup. Everything from the quote, to setting up the appointment, to dealing with the unexpected, to clarity of what we're paying for to the actual work being performed and completed was top notch. No hassles or anything. They were also the most competitive price-wise. Very satisfied. Highly recommended.

We called 4Sight after having read so many positive reviews on homestars. Their simple and inexpensive (relative to some of the other home inspectors we had looked at) cost table was also a contributing factor. We purchased a home in Toronto and waived the inspection condition. It was freshly renovated and looked really great. After having moved in and "looking under the hood" a little bit we discovered several issues, not the least of which was the shoddy workmanship that went into this renovation. We had improperly sealed air ducts (gaping holes in some parts and not connected to the vents in others!). We also discovered that bugs were getting into the basement (our "finished" basement) and it was evident that moisture was also seeping in around the walkout basement door - a small stretch of green mould had appeared on the interior drywall beneath the door. I called 4Sight and spoke with Mike who was very personable on the phone and in person. Mike took his time inspecting the exterior of the house and he explained where we needed to seal holes and cracks with caulking. We also need to repair our eavestroughs and add a couple of downspouts. The things we really worried about seem minor in comparison to the fact that Mike pointed out that we have a horizontal foundation crack (and repair) in the basement. Mike advised us to monitor the mortar repair for crumbling and to have a structural engineer assess it if we become concerned. Mike tested for water/moisture and did find pockets around the basement door. He advised us to seal the walkway and entry with mortar and caulking. We were very happy with Mike's patience and expertise. He even offered to come back in the winter to test the ducts for leaks (free of charge) as the ones behind the drywall are not amenable to this test in the summer. Very happy with the experience and the report that was emailed to me shortly after Mike left. Mike was excellent, very knowledgable and offered helpful advice. A+

Jer&jee. Thank you very much. There are many people buying without inspections these days and it is risky. In your case, although there was a horizontal crack, it had been shored up with an adequate repair but there is no way of knowing if the repair will hold. So, please do watch it. If the bolts and plates come loose or you see the mortar along the crack separating then call in the big guns and have it assessed and repaired properly. Not a cheap repair but it may become necessary. I do hope all works out for you and I am here for you if you have any other questions or concerns.

Thank you again. Michael Mischke. 4Sight Inspections Inc.
