Jessie did a terrific job cutting out quite a bit of deadwood from a large maple in our backyard, and also fertilized it in the hopes that we can sustain the life of this crucial shade tree. He also fertilized a new serviceberry tree that has been struggling. The work was efficient and clean-up was immaculate. All for a very competitive price. Very happy!

Carl came to us to scope our sewage pipes, as we'd had an alarming proposition from a rival company who'd replaced our exterior trap in an emergency. That company (who shall remain unnamed here) said that the interior pipes were damaged, and that for $8000 (!!) they would do the job while they already had access (they'd dug the front garden to access the trap). We (so wisely!) decided to decline and get a second opinion. Canada Waterproofers had done a fantastic job for us last spring, waterproofing the basement and installing a sump pump and backwater valve. Carl offered to come and have a look at no cost, "Because you're existing customers"! Long story short, there is no significant damage, and Carl has saved us thousands of dollars of unnecessary and disruptive work. Thank you, again, Canada Waterproofers!

After canvassing several friends for recommendations, and getting three estimates for flood-proofing a basement storage room (new interior weeping tile, sump pump installation and sealing membrane on the walls) and installing a backwater valve, I went with Canada Waterproofers. Carl McDowell was the project coordinator, and he was a pleasure to deal with from the first phone call to signing off the job at its conclusion. He was patient and clear in all his explanations, and in many respects went above and beyond expectations. His crew was efficient and thorough in their workmanship and their follow-through in terms of finishing details and clean-up. Carl also helped me fill out the City of Toronto flood subsidy forms. All in all, a first rate experience!

My front door was mistakenly locked with a push button (rather than our usual deadlock) to which we have lost the key. This company sent a "locksmith" with no credentials, no business card, and I had already waited for almost 2 hours for another locksmith to arrive (rush hour, he then had a flat, etc.) so was desperate to get into my home. He misrepresented the price to drill the lock off (said he couldn't pick it as it was a 'smart' lock) as being $90, but when I went to pay at the end he loudly insisted that he had told me twice that it was $190. That, plus $90 for the lock/handle set and $50 for installation - all of which took 10 minutes total. No official receipt book with the business name and address, and then he told me the wrong name for the company ("Locksmith Express"), saying he worked for 2 different ones. This was a nightmare. I will report this company to the BBB, and beyond.

I've been using Gator for over 16 years as I slowly replace old windows in my Leslieville home. This is a family business where service and craftsmanship are both top priorities. The brothers, harold and Roy, are great folks, and they do beautiful, honest work. Last week, had 5 aluminum storm-type windows replaced with Ontario-made casements. Roy and his son were in and out in 3 and a half hours, and the work was, as always, impeccable. And even though I was working one floor below them, I was amazed how quiet they were! This company will always be my go-to.
