Adel and his team did a fantastic job cleaning our ducts! We had recently purchased our house and when I checked the return air duct, it was clear that it hadn't been done in a while. They were quite taken aback (as were we) with how much stuff had built up over a long period of time. The guys doing the cleaning weren't too intrusive and did a very good job. We also hired this company to clean a stair runner and a couch, and we loved the added touch of providing us with little booties to traverse our stairway until it was dry. The only thing I didn't like was that they "santized" the ductwork, but it took a long time for the odour of the santizer to dissipate and go away. It might have been necessary, I don't know - but in future I would ask that this not be done. Otherwise, I will be happy to use them again!

Kay was great to work with - he gave me solid advice on upgrading my service (which he said wasn't necessary) and did great work running and hooking up a sub panel in my new garage, along with re-organizing my existing panel to fit a new 100A breaker. He was also great as a consultant as I undertook all the interior wiring for the garage myself. My only reservation is that the panel he ended up installing was a little undersized for the number of circuits and capacity I wanted.

Tom is always such a pleasure to have over. After a recent construction project where the Project Manager lost our key, Tom came over and re-keyed all of our locks for us. It was the second time working with him and we will be sure to hire him again for all of our lock-related work.

Pamir was a fantastic guy to work with. We had a challenging stair runner and carpet situation and he came back twice to ensure that it was done to our satisfaction - he even was able to remove a stain that another company wasn't able to clean. We wouldn't hesitate to use him again!

I first contacted my project manager, Simon, upon the advice of an architect colleague. At our first meeting it was clear that Simon had plenty of experience and a very positive demeanour, which put him at the top of my contractor shortlist. Ultimate Construction's competitive and reasonable price was an additional benefit and, combined with Simon's interview, secured the job for them. The job went very well, with all of the guys being friendly and knowledgable. Simon kept a good, open line of communication throughout the job, checking in with me at the beginning of the day with any questions and giving me an update at the end of each day. Once the insulated slab was poured, the work proceeded at a fantastic clip - in two days the framing was done, and in one day the doors/windows were installed and the weather barrier was up. Siding/roofing came along shortly after. Throughout the job Simon also made a number of great recommendations, which incurred minimal extra cost. I also asked him to lay down some pavers I had purchased as we were hosting a large gathering, and he and his assistant did it in an afternoon with no problem. The only things that I would critique about my whole experience would be the management of the site, and some of the record keeping. Extra costs weren't dealt with on an ongoing basis, which I would have preferred as it would let us keep on top of costs. In terms of site management, there was damage to the pavers on our parking pad because nothing was put down where gravel was delivered, and the bucket of the site vehicle scraped everything up. Water runoff containing concrete was sent down our driveway which then dried and caked on, and despite a good effort from Simon to power wash it away, it was left behind and is quite unsightly. Recognizing these things Simon was very fair with adjusting other costs and, to his credit, he was able to get very good prices on work by subs that his crew couldn't do. Overall, based on my experience I would not hesitate to recommend Ultimate Construction to anyone looking to undertake a small scale construction job!

I called Trevor originally for a consultation on what to do with some trees and plants that were in the yard of the house we had just purchased. We were impressed enough with his knowledge and demeanour that he was the first person we called when we decided to remove a hedge and a number of plants/trees from the yard. At the first consultation, he gave us some excellent no-nonsense advice about the state of our hedge and what to do with it, as well as some good advice about whether or not we should move (or discard) a small tree on the property. His visit involved a mini-lesson on the flora of the neighbourhood as well as advice on what to do if we were looking to re-plant - what to look for, what is native to the area, and what won't do well in our climate and soil. At the followup visit, Trevor removed a large hedge, a tree, and a number of plants. He completed the work quickly and effectively and left our yard clean - he even left some clippings aside for us that he said were ready to bud (and they did!). Trevor is a great resource as an arborist as well and he will be the first person I call when I need planting advice or need anything else removed.

At first I was very impressed with this company. They did a far better job at visiting my home, taking time to explain the ins and outs of the various solutions, and were great throughout the sales process. The unit was installed as promised and switched on. Unfortunately, the unit is louder than it is supposed to be. I was told by the installer that it was irregular, and that he would put in a service call to have it looked at, to install a piece that I had paid for, and to swap out a breaker on my electrical panel. He told me to expect a call to set up an appointment. The next call I received (mid morning the following day) was from a service guy on the way to my house. Like most people, I work a job and I had taken the day off to oversee the installers. I had to explain that I couldn't meet him, and he said he'd sort out the mess and someone would call me right back. No one contacted me again until I reached out to them to complain several days later. Now, instead of being able to accommodate another visit on a pre-scheduled vacation day, I have to take another morning off for them to come back and troubleshoot the issue. Even on the call to set up the appointment, they weren't even aware that the machine was making noise and that it needed a part that I paid for and wasn't included. Suffice to say, my initial impression has changed for the negative over time. I'm hoping that regular service calls will be easier to manage but I won't hold my breath. That being said, I will be happy to post a new review when my annual maintenance happens, if it goes well. There are inevitably hiccups with any company and I'm disappointed to find that this one isn't living up to its reputation.

We moved into our house in the spring and had a tough time deciding on window fashions in and amongst all the other things we had to do (planning a wedding, furnishing/decorating, etc!). It ended up getting close to our wedding and our other window fashion guy fell through, so we turned to Signature Window Fashions. Lyle couldn't have been more attentive or kind in working with us to get our house set up for our big weekend. Everything came on remarkably short notice, and the installer did a great job. Everything looks great! The only knock, which is against the manufacturer and not SWF, is that the cord on the expensive silhouette style blinds feels quite cheap for what we paid - it's just a nylon cord. The only reason I mention it is because we weren't really advised on that, and it caught us off-guard (and we paid a good price, so I guess we had high expectations). All in all, a great experience and we'd be happy to use them again in future.

I tested the beds at the location in Toronto near High Park. We were both put off by the sales lady (who kept calling my partner and I "kids" - we're in our 30's) but we liked one of the platforms well enough to order it. Let's just say that all the negative reviews about their delivery are spot on. We were told delivery would take place one day, but received a call 4 days sooner (when no one was home) that they would be there that day. In the exchange of words that followed the operator was quite hostile towards my partner, telling her that she was wrong and that if we weren't home to take the order it would need to be rescheduled. At some point the operator called back - oops, they had the wrong file, sorry for the confusion... Not impressed. It took a call to CS and escalation of the situation to get an apology out of them. We got the platform eventually. The delivery guys were great, put it together quickly, and they were off. They're the reason this is a 2 star review and not zero stars. We had an issue with the height of the platform, and the manufacturer told us they have shorter legs. I reached out to SC via their website (not wanting to deal with their operators again) to say that we didn't know that there were options for the legs, and that we wanted the shorter ones because we're pretty sure that's what we saw in the store... and given that we didn't know there was an option, we shouldn't have to pay the $100 that was being asked for the short legs - that should be an exchange. This happened in May. It wasn't until tonight, August, after multiple website requests and a bunch of twitter messages (where they asked for my contact information twice) that I finally got them on the phone (not after they left a VM promising to call back and then... didn't). They said, oh, you have to buy those from the manufacturer, we don't sell the shorter legs. I'm done with you Sleep Country. You're inept at Customer Service and there are so many other great companies out there that I'll be putting my support elsewhere. The irony is that we need a second platform and really like the product - suffice to say we'll find someone else that sells it.

Tom was great to work with. He came over to replace some locks and put them all on the same key set - he properly adjusted the locks to seal the exterior doors and was a great educator and entertainer at the same time. I would happily recommend him to others and use him again if needed.

Andrew was great to deal with - he delivered the boxes on time with good communication, and was very considerate when the originally scheduled pickup didn't work out. I've already recommended them to several friends (and can confirm that they do provide a small referral gift!) and would do so again without hesitation.
