David just recently repaired our Kenmore Elite dishwasher, which wasn't cleaning well. Great experience! David is a pleasure to deal with, has a lot of integrity, and is very skilled in his work. First of all, he arrives when he says he will and doesn't keep you waiting. In our case, he had to take the machine into his shop, but it was back within a couple of days. It's now working really well again, and I'm delighted we found David. I found his rates quite reasonable, and we've probably saved ourselves $300 or more on a new machine. In our throw-away society, it's nice to get new life from an old dishwasher that's served us well. I also found David to be a very interesting person to talk with. He happens to be a cellist with the Hart House Orchestra, and has had an interesting career. Highly recommended!

We came to Eco Choice after a terrible experience with Renewal by Andersen, and Eco Choice was like a breath of fresh air. We had a living room bay window replaced, our dining room window, and a large and smaller window in our master bedroom. They've always been very courteous and responsive, and they offer good quality windows for a reasonable price. And they seem to really back up their products. Soon after our windows were installed, a section of our eavestroughing came down and damaged one of the window frames. Eco Choice has been very responsive to our request for a repair, and have quoted a very reasonable price of $150. From Carol on the phones to Terry (who provided the estimate) to the installers, everyone has been a pleasure to deal with. We would definitely call Eco Choice again for replacement windows.

Brian's son David did a small repair for us October 2014 and we were very pleased. An area of brick had fallen away at the back of the house -- likely from water damage. David also repaired our chimney. Both Brian and David are a pleasure to deal with. Their rates seemed fair, the wait was not too long, and their workmanship is excellent. They also seem very honest and ethical. The first gentleman who gave us a quote said our whole basement needed to be rebuilt at a cost of $20-30,000!! Brian took a look inside and quickly determined that the basement was still in good condition and only the damaged area needed fixing. We plan on calling on Brian and David again in 2015 to carry out other repairs to the brick that were not as urgent. Thanks for your great service guys! We're thankful we found you.

My baseball-crazed teenage son was taking practice swings in the living room on the day before Christmas Eve when the bat slipped from his hands and went right through our front window! I felt a flash of panic. Who's going to fix it when the holidays are just about to begin!? I called around. I got the voicemail for one place, and the next guy was closed until January. Not Mount Pleasant Glass & Mirror. They agreed to send someone to look at it that same afternoon, and arrived when they said they would. The nice lady in the office called a short time later with a reasonable quote and we gave them the green light. They arrived on Christmas Eve morning and fixed the interior window on site. They took the storm window to the shop to fix, and returned the first Monday after Boxing Day to re-install it. The total bill was actually less than the original estimate, including HST! We'll be dealing with these fine folks again. We were told that if you purchase windows (and they can recommend suppliers), they will install them -- and you could end up saving money. We have a lot of old windows to replace. Thanks for you great service Mount Pleasant Glass & Mirror!

I called New Canadian Drain & Plumbing to take a look at backed-up drain in our basement. Rami charged me $200 simply to put a camera down the drain, and concluded after about five minutes that we needed to replace an external trap at a cost of $2,200. I didn't commit to the repair, but Rami put a big fluorescent stripe on our driveway to mark the location of the trap, permanently marring the pavement. When I asked him if he could simply use a snake or pump to unclog the trap, he completely dismissed the idea. The next day, a trusted plumber whom my in-laws have patronized for years (who we initially couldn't reach) cleared the blockage in the trap in about 10 minutes for a cost of $200. At least we got value for our money in that case, which unfortunately can't be said for New Canadian Drain & Plumbing. When Homestars checked with New Canadian Drain & Plumbing to verify this review, they denied I was ever a customer!

Hi John,

We are sorry that you feel that way; we would not have done a camera inspection had you not requested it. The charge to do a camera inspection or a snake is $180+hst. Our technician located the problem, marked the area and gave you an estimate to fix it, you were not obligated to go through with the job, however we could have provided you with a snake, which is a temporary fix that does not guarantee that the problem is gone in most cases, had you requested it. It is unfair that you gave us such a low rating after we provided you with the service that was requested by you.
