We contacted The Cutting Edge Roofing after we discovered two shingles in our backyard which we thought came from our roof. Robert came out to our property and inspected our roof. Much to our relief, the shingles were not from our roof, but from our neighbour next to us. Robert was very professional and fast, and did not even charge us for the service call. Although we didn't require work, whenever we do need roofing services, we will definitely be contact Robert.

We contacted Andrew to remove several trees from our property. We had used Andrew's services a few years prior to prune a very large tree and remove several diseased ash trees and were extremely happy with his service. This time, we had more diseased trees removed as well as a very large blackberry tree. Andrew and his team did an excellent job, removing all the trees to the ground and cleaning up the debris afterwards. Additionally, he also pruned back another tree and part of our neighbour's tree that was overhanging into our yard. Not only that, Andrew came by a couple weeks later to spray some weeds that we had along the edge of our driveway. That was so nice of him to do that for us! As with our first service experience, this was one also exceptional. We very highly recommend Andrew and his team.

We contacted Markham Garage Doors last month when one of our garage doors wouldn't close. Customer service (I believe her name was Freida) was very helpful and made arrangements to send Ryan out that afternoon. Ryan was able to diagnose and fix the problem (cable had gotten all tangled up), but while we were able to use the garage door, the cable threatened to get tangled up again every time. Ryan checked the other garaged door and it was showing the same tendency too. The garage doors were cheap quality (no weather stripping) and had been self-installed by the previous owner, so we decided to go ahead and order new garage doors. Four weeks later when our doors arrived, Ryan came out to install them. Everything went smoothly and we are very very happy with our new garage doors. Now we have absolutely no worries when we open and close them. I highly recommend Markham Garage Door and Ryan!

We needed to replace the windows in our house and looked on HomeStars for reputable companies. Galaxy Windows was one of three companies we contacted to provide us with a quote. Alex came to our house and was very thorough in measuring, showing us the product and providing the estimate. After careful consideration, we decided to go with Galaxy but wanted to change our quote from a retrofit to a full replacement. Alex was quick to come back to take new measurements and revise the quote. Galaxy came to install the windows on Thanksgiving. The install team of Alex (a different Alex!) and Roman did an amazing job. In just one day, they installed 8 windows (3 casement windows in the living room, 2 awning windows, 2 basement windows, and 1 station/casement bedroom window) with minimal mess. Towards the end of the day, Alex 1 came to inspect the work and asked us if we were happy with the windows. We are absolutely thrilled with our new windows. Before the install, I was rather worried about how the windows would look and how the install would go (because the exterior of the house is partly stucco), but I worried for nothing. The windows are top quality and the install went so smoothly. Very very happy with Alex 1, Alex 2, Roman and Galaxy Windows. At some point, we want to replace our patio door and front door. For sure we'll be calling Galaxy to do this for us!

We contacted Bill to clean our two wood burning fireplaces. They were filthy when we bought the house and we had no intention of using them. We also asked Bill to seal up the chimneys, but he explained that chimneys can't be sealed completely because that would trap in moisture. He said that he would install new caps. Bill said that he normally does cleaning in the fall, but he fit us into his schedule. In addition to the cleaning and install of caps, Bill removed an old antenna that was attached to the chimney, and showed us some repairs that would need to be done as part of the chimney was crumbling. What started off as a simple clean turned into a much bigger job when they discovered dead squirrels in the chimney! We were shocked as there was never any indication of a critter problem (i.e., no smell in the house at all). This led to the job taking longer and being more work. We felt horrible that they had to deal with all that, and I had said to Bill that he could revise the quote he gave us, but he refused. We are very very grateful to Bill and his team for their excellent work and professionalism. We will definitely be asking Bill to do the chimney repairs this fall, and we highly recommend him and his crew.
