After 20 years it was time for a new roof, both peaked and flat. Joe and Aaron had a good price and unlike some of the other roofers, actually went up to see it first. It is now 9 months later after a lot of storms and high winds and everything is where it should be. Definitely recommended.
I've been using Cook's for all my paint needs because of the knowledgeable staff and good advice. Only once did I encounter someone there who was less than pleasant & had the wrong information to boot, and one of the regulars immediately rushed from the back to give me the correct information.
Prune one tree and removal of another
I had 2 Manitoba Maples in my backyard , one of which was dead. Ontario Tree Experts offered a good price to take one down and to prune the second one. They did the job when they were supposed to and my neighbour who watched them said they were quick and efficient. They did a good job cleaning up afterwards. There was quite a stump left however, making that piece of ground unusable. I would have expected them to take it down to ground level.
Copacetic was given the job of building some kitchen cabinets for me with doors that matched a Victorian Sideboard I own. They had seen the sideboard and said they could do it but it seems there was a misunderstanding because what I was offered as far as the moulding was concerned was not close. It took a lot of back and forth but in the end, the match was very very close. There were some problems with the stain but Copecetic has fixed the 2 most obvious issues there which included replacing one door entirely.
Sorry Sheilah, I had no idea you were not thrilled with our work. We were working for your contractor as our client and not directly for you. We followed his instruction to a "T". He has given us rave reviews. He also said you were very pleased and has returned with other work. To be frank I personally was very proud of the antique-ing we did to resemble your older door. I worked with your contractor [our client] to make it work with custom mixed stain, spray toning and many samples before we got to one that was approved. Your contractor has said it was the best kitchen work he has ever installed so I am at a loss as to why you would give us such a poor rating.
I had Spencer Contracting build a balcony on the 2nd floor above a porch which they also replaced at the same time. Within 6 months the floor of the balcony started to move off the edge of the roof below. Nick Spencer tried cheap ways to fix it but when he finally agreed (after 3 years) that it had to be replaced, he made me pay for it rather than admit it was his bad workmanship at fault.In the process, the roof above the porch was pierced and I now get rain pouring through the porch ceiling. He refused to fix that. The carpenter he employs is very talented but I will never hire the company again.
I had raccoons in my attic and Joel got them out, sealed up the entry then sealed the chimney without being asked. 5 years later when I heard animals trying to get in, he came back and told me how to discourage them - at no cost! That is true customer service. He also checked the work done before to make sure it was still good.
