After chasing the Go2Guys Calgary contact for a week to get our eaves project started, they installed new eaves, downspouts and a t-rex system for us. The first snow after installation showed that the job was worse than before he fixed it with leaks on both sides of the house, off the front and sides, instead of the downspouts at the back. He also provided a quote to replace the roof as he said the roof was "so rotten he could fall through." I called EPIC for a second opinion and discovered that the Go2Guys assessment about the roof was not true. Interestingly, Go2Guys was very worried about my insistence on getting the second opinions - I believe it was because he was going to get caught on his work quality and about the roof needing to be unnecessarily replaced. I let Go2Guys know we would have another company do the work we needed and politely fired him. We chose to work with EPIC to fix the eave problems and roof repairs. Epic turned out to be fantastic as they fixed all of the install problems and mistakes that Go2Guys did (incorrectly used wood screws instead of self sealing screws, not screwing in trim so it fell apart, and not putting in brackets on the eaves, and not making sure that water went to downspouts). Thank god for EPIC - everything has been replaced and installed correctly and the water is flowing to the downspouts now! Unfortunately we have now paid for the project twice (thanks to Go2Guys errors), but at least it is fixed and perfect now with the help of EPIC (great service, communication, workmanship, and follow through). A big shout out to Matt who made the experience smooth and easy and to Gordie for fixing everything so perfectly. Great job from EPIC! Thank you thank you thank you.

After having to chase Darrin, the Go2Guys Calgary contact, for a week to get our eaves project started, he installed new eaves, downspouts and a t-rex system for us. Our eaves were leaking from the front and sides, and the project was to replace them. The first snow after installation showed that the job was worse than before he fixed it with even worse leaking at the front corners and sides of the house instead of the downspouts at the back. He also provided a quote to replace the roof as he said the roof was "so rotten he could fall through." I called 2 other companies for a second opinion and discovered that Darrin's assessment about the roof was not true. Darrin was very worried about my insistence on getting the second opinions - I believe it was because he was going to get caught on his work quality and about the roof needing to be necessarily replaced. I let Darrin know we would have another company do the work we needed and politely fired him. After discovering the lack of integrity, we chose to work with another company to fix the eave problems as Darrin was not concerned about fixing the problems despite showing him videos of the results of his work. I also had to chase Go2Guys down for price breakdown info and to get my deposit back (over a month to get my refund). :( The second company turned out to be fantastic as they fixed all of the install issues that Darrin did (he incorrectly used wood screws instead of self sealing screws, not screwing in trim so it fell apart, damaged the front corner of the eaves, and most importantly not making sure that water went to downspouts). Of note is that I gave Go2Guys a chance to contact me to rectify the situation and after two weeks, I heard back from the manager Jeff, who refused to provide a refund for the labour. In fact, his message was harrassive, threatening, and condescending because of this review. I still want the money back for Darrin's labour, but I doubt they will do the right thing given how this has unfolded. Terrible experience from start to finish.. At the end of the day, this company has a Calgary crew that lacks integrity and does not care about the quality of their work. Thank god for the second company we hired to fix this mess - everything has been replaced and installed correctly and the water is flowing to the downspouts now! I have discussed it with my neighbour who was going to have Go2Guys replace 2 roofs...but now will go with another company. I'm glad that there is some consequence even if I don't have my money back, they will lose future jobs because of my experience. Dishonesty and shoddy work are something no one should have to put up with. Unfortunately we have now paid for the project twice (thanks to Go2Guys errors). Go2Guys was a complete fail, be warned before choosing this company.

Egbert was professional, personable, very thorough and able to help us on short notice. With his help we were able to make an informed decision about the home we want to buy. His expertise was very much appreciated to help us know if things in the home were in good condition or if they were of major concern, a safety issue, needed repair, needed improvement, needed to be replaced, or needed to be monitored. He took great care to go over all areas of the home and even shared a few jokes to keep the laughter and good spirits flowing. :)

Thanks Sharlene. Even though some parts of the home inspection can be a little boring, people can be overwhelmed by the amount of information and detail we go over together ins such a short time so I'm glad the jokes weren't wasted. Enjoy your home.
