My wife and I had been renovating our home for a couple of months before engaging Keating Roofing to re-shingle one of our diagonal roofs, completely replace a large flat roof area, and disassemble and then reassemble a large wooden upper deck in order to access the flat roof. After 11 years of a slow, inconsistent leak from the area (which fortunately dripped into a shower stall!), and having dealt with literally at least a dozen roofers over the past decade who had different theories and about the root cause of the leak and loads of creative ideas about how to fix the leak, not one could actually fix the problem! Many suggested removing the deck, but none presented the option of disassembling it, storing it on our upper roof while the roof repair was conducted, and then reassembling the perfectly good wood... none expect for Keating that is. Enter John Keating, President of Keating Roofing, son of the company's founder. Professional, articulate, reliable, and with a crew that went way beyond our expectations, especially after our recent slew of negative experiences that we had with a number of reputedly "professional" contractors, we could not be happier with our Keating experience. The quote package was phenomenal, and personalized down to the finite detail, including a colour photo of our photo on the front of the 10+ page document. John's team showed up early every day, were courteous and efficient, CLEANED UP every day, and did a job that appears to be second to none. My wife and I are now Keating advocates, and will be lifelong customers. There will be only one roofing and exteriors company we will turn to and recommend in the years to come. THANK YOU Keating for restoring our faith in truly professional contractors. >>:-)

We recently had our first floor hardwood floor replaced, and wanted to update 2 vintage wood staircases to give our 112 year old High Park home a new and fresh look. We contacted Moe from Renew-Stairs, and had a pleasant experience with setting up the project, and through to completion. The workmanship of the tradesman who did the work was fantastic, and he was extremely pleasant and accommodating. The finished results exceeded our expectations. There are a few key negatives that we had with the experience. One big one was with the timing of each work day. The tradesman showed up no earlier than 9:30 AM each day, which made getting to work on time for us impossible unless we left an entry key, which we had not arranged to do when planning the project with Moe. While we understand that the worker had to travel a great distance (he lived in a suburb of Toronto) to get to our home, we also had a long distance to get to work, and ended up being late for work not only on the first day of the job, but then again repeatedly throughout the project, which dragged on longer than what was originally quoted, largely because of the late start to each day. Also, our son was 5 years old at the time of the project, which Moe and the worker were aware of. I had to wonder then why the stairs were left with nails and sharp wood sticking out after the original treads were removed. Our son had to walk up 2 flights of the stairs to get to his bedroom, and were it not for us hammering in all of the exposed nails and removing the wood shards as best we could, he might have been hurt. Finally, similar to the point about leaving a dangerous work area noted above, the worker wanted to apply a strong scented varnish at 6 PM one day. The fumes of the varnish were extremely strong, and given that our son's bedtime was around 8 PM (not to mention we were about to have dinner), I asked the worker to stop work, and return the next day to apply the chemical. This seemed to put him off as he said that he would not be able to complete the job the next day (a Friday) as he had planned to. With an earlier start he could have easily avoided this situation. Regardless of the negative points cited above, we would still recommend Renew-Stairs for the quality of their final product. Just be sure to have Moe clearly state what each work day's timing will be (i.e., provide an actual work plan), and anticipate schedule delays, as seem to happen so often with contractors and trades people.

This was the second project that my wife and I used the Small Project Company (SPC) for in the past 10 years, and it will not be the last. Charles ("Chuck") showed up for our pre-project meetings mostly on time, and provided detailed quotes in a timely manner. He returned all of our call promptly and extremely cordial and amicable. The SPC crew arrived on site every day on time, worked diligently each day, and cleaned up after themselves daily. Their work was that of skilled tradesmen and tailored to our requirements. Dale, one of the lead foremen, communicated extremely well, and worked with me to ensure that our design vision was understood and realized practically. SPC's fees are extremely reasonable, and their service delivery professional by every measure. My only reservation with writing this positive review is the risk of too many people catching the SPC wave on account of it (and the other glowing reviews), and then having to wait in line behind all of the SPC's soon to be happy customers! >:-)
