Once upon a time, there was a nasty, ugly vanity, poor lighting, a squeaky bathroom fan and a chipped claw foot tub in a little bathroom. Valco made a beautiful vanity that made better use of the space, installed nice bright LED lighting. He created a shower with bench and glass enclosure, tiling that matched with existing flooring, suggested and created a nice wall niche shelf for the many shampoos and soaps that come with teens in the household. The fan? He disconnected the squeaky fan motor, took it home, cleaned it up and reinstalled it...it works perfectly. Above and beyond IMO. He did a great job of splitting a large study/ yoga space into two bedrooms and reused and matched flooring materials creatively. Oh, and each day he cleaned up the workspace, organizing his tools and equipment for the next day's work. A job very well done! I have already recommended him to a neighbour.

Dogs, cat and teenagers mean hard-wearing carpet is essential. Mark's suggestion of Industrial carpet on really thick padding looks good, feels good on the tender toootsies and will get us through the crazy years to come without breaking the bank.

Dishwasher stopped draining just as I was making an emergency run to the US to care for ill family. Fast forward three weeks, family fine...dishwasher not. Took on the cleaning of the machine myself...still blocked. Oleg came, explained what was likely wrong and also the worst case scenario and the costs associated with each. He did the work....what he suspected was the culprit was indeed the case (drain blockage). It turned out that the blockage was a toothpick. So all is well. I really liked that at each stage of the process, the costs and options were clearly explained. Oleg was very courteous and professional. He clearly loves fixing things and making people happy. I will definitely call, next time an appliance breaks!

I had an old icebox (Brantford), purchased at auction, and a trunk that my parents had used to move to BC. TMC restored them and they are GORGEOUS - a perfect job! THANK YOU!!!

I've used them before and they've done a great job. This time though, when my open house was on the line, I wasn't as impressed. A couple of windows had been missed and the floors just didn't sparkle the way they did the first two times I used this company. So I ended up doing a couple of windows and redoing the floors myself. Otherwise their work was as good as ever. I'd still use the company...but I'd ask for one cleaner to work longer rather than two cleaners to possibly miss stuff between them.

I suspected mould in my 100 year old, rather leaky basements. Mr. Haverkate came and inspected my entire house for mould. Yes, there was some but not as much as I had suspected. He identified where the mould was and suggested that I go through certain steps. (1) eliminate the leaking that creates the moisture for the mould in the first place (2) then have a professional remediator come in and clean it up with the appropriate sealing off procedures. He even recommended people that I could contact to get these things done. Also Mr. HaverKate's Mould Dog found a couple of minor spots that the technical equipment wasn't sensitive enough to find. They were small enough and minor enough that I could clean them up myself(before they became a problem spot). (And the dog was very professional too.)

Facing no-longer-refinishable 70+ year old floors in my 100+ year old home I found Ecowoods on this website and decided to call for a quote. Francesco came, examined the work (complete dining room, living room, lower hall, upper hall, 1 bedroom and stairs). He came a day early and finished on time and on the money. His quote was far from the highest (but not the lowest)and he and his team treated my home like they were working on their own floors. The work is beautiful...so beautiful that I cannot bring myself to put down my hand knotted rug in the living room! Francesco is truly and Artisan of wood and floors.
