This is the first time we had replaced windows in our home and had not really been through this experience before. After inviting a few window companies to our home to demo their products we were quite confused as there are many good companies out there with their own unique product. However, my wife and I were quite impressed with the product that Dmitri from Galaxy Windows presented to us. We feel that this particular product resonated most with us and met all our requirements. This was an important part of the decision making process for us and after visting the manufacturer's showroom to view the windows we decided to go with Galaxy. Dmitri walked us through the entire process and answered all our questions that enabled us to make an informed decision regarding the type of window to install in each room of our home and other decisions we needed to make related to glass, grilles etc. Alex arrived a few days later to take measurements for all the windows and was able to answer some follow up question we had regarding the installation. When installation day arrived, Alex and team were able to replace all windows in two and half days. We were especially impressed with the quality of the work that was carried out by the team and their attention to detail. Also, how the team were able to remove some windows without causing any damage to existing marble tiles surrounding the windows. Now as the weather is getting colder we have noted a significant difference in each room of our house and how much warmer it is (less heat loss) with the new windows. Overall, we are very satisifed with our new windows. When our freezer stopped working this summer we called Rick Appliance Repair based upon Homestars reviews and ratings. Rick promptly returned our call and was able to make himself available the same day after we expressed the urgency of the situation. We found Rick to be very courteous and professional. He quickly diagnosed the problem and restored the freezer to its normal working order. He also gave us very good tips and advice on what we should do to stop or minimize the risk of the situation occurring again. I called Chris for a quote for the complete replacement of my two garage doors (including the openers, tracks, keypads etc.) I requested quotes for different types of garage door to help me make the right decision. Chris provided written quotes for all and advised on the best options available for each. I also asked about aluminiun capping for the garage door frames, a service that Chris was able to provide and include aswell. I found Chris very responsive to my phone calls, emails, and kept me informed during the whole process from hiring to installation. On the day of the installation, Chris arrived with his team and got straight to work. The work was carried out very professionally and I am very satisfied with the finished product. The aluminium capped frames and the garage door colors match perfectly. My new Liftmaster openers are now WiFi enabled and I'm able to control them from my phone and receive notifications. My driveway needed sealing so after some research I called Peter at GTA Asphalt Sealing for a quote. One of the reasons I called them was the unique sealant product they use and process they use to lay down the sealant. When I spoke with Peter over the phone he took his time to explain the process in detail. I have new concrete curbs at my home and wanted the asphalt sealing to be clean, uniform and have straight edges where the asphalt met the curbs. Peter and his team did not disappoint. They took their time first to properly clean up the driveway of weeds, dirt as well as fill in any cracks in the asphalt. All concrete was properly taped off before laying the sealant. The work was completed quickly and cleanly and the overall effect of the finished work was just as I expected. My driveway looks as though it has just been laid with fresh asphalt and it has done a lot in improving the curb appeal of my home. When our home air conditioner failed to function during this summer I called Husky Heating and Air Conditioning for a quote after being recommended by friends of ours who had previously used their services. I have never replaced an air conditioning unit for a home before so I first did some research on the current products on the market. When I called Husky I spoke with Dmitri and found that he was really knowledgeable on the current products and models available and he took his time in explaining which ones would be best for my home and helped me make the right decision with no pressure. I found the installers who came on the day (Jenissie and Derek) very knowledgeable, courteous and professional. They have a very good work ethic and their experience shows in the work they do. They also provided me good recommendations on the placement of the new AC unit as it was slightly larger than my previous unit. The work was completed quickly without any issues, all work areas were cleaned up and old items were removed from my home. I highly recommend their services and will be using them again in the future. Update 14th September 2019 I called the team Husky again for a quote furnace and fireplace service. My furnace and fireplace had not been serviced for a while and I wanted peace of mind ahead of winter. I spoke with Victoria when I called who was very helpful, answered all my questions and set up an appointment for one of their techicians to do the work. Dave was the technician that arrived on the day and professionally carried out the required service work. I was provided with a report which had a breakdown of the work that was done and a checklist of all the tests that were performed. Again, I am happy with the work performed by the team at Husky and recommend their services. They are definitely my go to people now for all matters related Heating and Air Conditioning.

I called Adel and his team to clean the air ducts in my house. They arrived on time took extra care inside the home while they were moving their cleaning equipment around. I was looking for contractor for a new driveway, walkway and porch. The work done by a previous contractor was of poor quality, the concrete had many cracks in it and was just in a general state of decay. I knew more or less what I wanted (White Concrete Porch, Walkway and Curbs with an Asphalt Driveway) so I turned to Homestars to search for a contractor who would meet my requirements. Based upon the reviews and my own research I decided to go with City Concrete Construction for this work. I met Mohamed at my home for the initial quote. From the outset his professionalism and knowledge of the concrete business came across very well. He was quick to point out a number of issues and problems with my current concrete walkway and porch and how things were not done to the correct building code. He carefully inspected the site and was able to advise on the best approach to move forward with a design that would both meet my requirements and maximize the curb appeal to my home that was urgently needed. I was particularly impressed with his detailed written quotation which I received the next day. Mohamed explained the entire process from start to finish and also made himself available for any further follow up questions that I had. In addition to the concrete work I also contracted out the asphalt driveway work to him as he was able to provide a competitive quote for that too. Mohamed and his team arrived at my home at the agreed time and commenced work. The concrete work was completed in less than week (they have their own concrete trucks that deliver and mix the concrete). The asphalt work was completed a couple of weeks later. Everyone in his team was very professional in their work, paid great attention to detail and were very courteous to myself and my neighbors. The end result was the perfect outcome, we are proud of our new driveway, new curbs, concrete walkway and porch and cannot stop admiring it. We also had some parging done around the front of the house and the overall effect has greatly maximized the curb appeal to our home. My garage door cable snapped off one morning leaving my car trapped inside the garage. Since this was the first time I had experienced this I turned to Homestars inorder to find a professional in this field who could assist me. I contacted Chris at Easy Access Garage Doors after reading the reviews for this company. After explaining the problem and discussing with him, his knowledge and experience became apparent to me, his quote was reasonable and he was able to send his associate to come and fix the door later the same day. I decided to get the cables replaced on both garage doors and also replace some rollers that were corroded. All the work was completed very professionally and to my satisfaction. I was looking for a replacement sliding patio door as my current one was at the end of life and was exhibiting all the signs:- drafty, cold, condensation build up, and difficult to slide etc. There were a few products out there in the market, so I consulted some of the window installation companies to provide me details and quotes for their sliding patio door offerings. After having done my own research I had more or less settled on a particular brand of sliding door, that is until Oliver from Canadian Choice Windows came to my home. Oliver offered a different product that the other competitors did not provide and was superior in all respects. The quote was competitive and warranty offered was excellent. Oliver's knowledge and experience of all aspects of sliding door and the benefits it provides came across very well and he was able to recommend some installation options. I opted to go for a custom sliding patio door and for brick-to-brick installation which would provide for a neater installation and also meant I could do away with the old wooden door frame which was also looking tired. I also visited the Canadian Choice showroom where Oliver provided a demo of the actual sliding door. It was here that I was introduced to Tomas, one of the installers. I had many questions about the installation and Tomas was able to provide the answers. On the day of the installation Tomas arrived, upon removing the old door it was found that the subfloor and joist under door was rotted, this was due in part to a poor previous installation. I had to get this repaired in order for the installation of the new door proceed. I was able to get this repair done quickly and in the meantime I kept in touch with Hanna at the office who was able to coordinate and reschedule Tomas back for the installation of new sliding door without any further delay. The installation went like clockwork, Tomas is a good installer, he knows his craft very well, and provides excellent attention to detail. The work area was left clean and tidy after he finished. I was impressed how well the new door fitted into the opening, the clean installation (no visible screws), the new interior trim work, the professional caulking work on the outside and new drip cap installation. Overall the new Sliding Patio Door looks amazing from the inside and outside !!! I was in the process of getting my garden sliding patio door replaced when it was discovered that the structural rim joist running along the perimeter of my house, and under the sliding patio door, was found to be rotted due to water seepage over many years. This had to be replaced in order for the patio door replacement work to proceed. Since this is a critical support component that forms part of the foundation of the house, I began a search for a contractor who was experienced in structural issues and how to tackle them. After some searching I found Leuri who agreed to come to my house to assess the situation. When he arrived, his experience and knowledge of the problem became apparent to me very quickly and he was able to propose an innovative approach to "surgically" remove and replace the parts of the rotted joist, subfloor and sill plate with minimum disruption to my home. I want to add that I have a finished kitchen area with marble floor tiling (which were not touched) and a finished basement from where he was able to perform a majority of the work with minimum disruption. The work was completed as quoted and within a day. All waste materials were cleaned up very well and my home was left in a clean state. I highly recommend Leuri for any type of structural framing work, he definitely has the experience and the ability to execute this type of work. Thank you again Leuri.
