Replaced hot-water tank and moved it to the basement. Job was done 100% to satisfaction, however, the road was a bit bumpy, particularly at the end.
I asked that the company call before arriving so that I could drive home from work and discuss, in person, whether or not the new hot-water tank could be installed in a different room than where the existing tank was. The company never called so by the time I got home the new tank was installed where the old one was. I spoke to Ivan about the issue and he scheduled a time to move the tank to the basement at a fair price. He couldn't move the tank until 7 weeks later, which was quite acceptable to us so we agreed. Two months later he arrived and moved the tank as we requested. The job was done perfectly and we have had no problems with the tank since then.
Had this been the end of the story I would definitely have rated the job 10 stars. However, shortly thereafter I received a bill in the mail for another 2 months worth of renting my old hot-water tank (approximately $75). I phoned Ivan about the bill and it turns out that his employees who installed the tank during the first visit (2 months prior) had never returned the tank to the renter. Ivan explained that he had been having trouble with the employee(s) and he was not aware that the tank had not been returned. Here is where things went wrong. I asked that Ivan pay the $75 rental fee which had been caused by his employees but he refused, stating that he had given me such a good price on the job that I should be grateful and pay the bill myself. When I told him that I was not satisfied by his response and indicated to him that my only recourse would be to leave a review detailing what had happened he threatened to sue me and used all manner of foul language. I can only imagine that Ivan was under a tremendous amount of stress to respond with very un-professional bullying. Feeling I had no other choice I paid the bill and tried to put the whole situation behind me.
This review is difficult to write because, apart from having to pay for additional rental of my old heater due to no fault of my own, the job was completed with 100% satisfaction. I cannot, however, ever recommend Flamborough Air to anyone due to how Ivan spoke to me after asking him to compensate me for the old hot-water tank rental fees from the time after it had been removed from my home.
