The concrete surrounding the inground swimming pool started to sink in sections up to 1 inch. The pool is 30 years old and the final reason to correct the uneven concrete slabs was when our grand-daughter tripped and fell cutting both her knees. We contacted many companies and decided to go with Uretek as this desicion was made on the product and results not the price. Albert Corr of Uretek reassured me that raising the concrete by a method of high density special polymers to lift, re-align, underseal and void-fill for a permanent level of all concrete slabs needing repair around the pool. Albert also noted that there could be a small chance that the one area that was over an 1" raised might sink and if so contact the Company. Albert was right and within one day of contact Uretek leveled the one section at no added charge. A swimming pool is a major investment however over time needs to be updated and with the injury to my grand-daughter's knees we have since had Uretek do our walkway as there is no limit of what the cost was as the smile of our grand-daughters after the re-alignment. Thanks Albert and the team for all you have done for us. Thanks Chris & Susan

We had a 4" chunk of marble broken off in the front of our new vanity marble countertop. After going through many companies including repairs to marble countertops we decided that for the cost to repair would be more expensive then a new vanity counter top. Tornoto Granite had a piece of Bianco Carrara which was the same as the one we purchased. They took the measurements and cut a perfect replacement for our master bathroom marble vanity countertop as well as cutting the one that was broken into a smaller 30" marble vanity counter top for our basement bathroom at no charge. We highly recomend Toronto Granite as a company that looks beyond the work being done noticing that instead of throwing away a piece of broken marble countertop into a perfect fit for the basement bathroom. Thanks again Chris & Susan

Advanced Roofing originally removed our shingles & eavestroughing for our roof. A year later in the winter we had leaks into the livingroom. We contacted Advanced Roofing and they came out explaining it was an ice dam and might be lack of insulation. The following year we had leaks in the same area and contacted Adavanced Roofing and Bryan realized the problem was that water was going under the shingles creating leaks. I contacted Kevin Smith who understood our situation and was very patient as I was upset. In conclusion Kevin removed the shingles and installed a water membrane and reshingled the roof at cost. Bryan also noticed that the 4X8 roofing didn't have an inch drip overlap in a small area that was the cause of the leaks. Bryan corrected the problem and we have had no leaks since. I highly recommend Advanced Roofing as they stand behind their warranty as well as making sure the customer is 100% happy with the job. Again I thank Bryan and his team for superior workmanship and dedication to the job. I give Advanced Roofing a rating of 10+ and look forward in the next couple years for a replacement of our flat roof membrane. Thanks Chris & Susan

This was our second time using Mississauga Handyman and this was a small job. The job took longer then it was scheduled as the contractor had to pick his daughter up from daycare which made this a 2 day job. The workmanship was average as he had to leave early and rushed the mudding of the bathroom. He left without finishing the hallway explaining how to finish the job myself. He was easy to get along with however rushing the job we realized after painting the flaws of his workmanship. It was only when we painted the bathroom we noticed that we had to sand and mud his errors as well as finishing the hallway. I am giving Handyman Connection a high rating as the company provides skilled tradesman for smaller jobs.

After going through over 15 estimates we decided that Dennis was the man for this project. Dennis's estimate was in the middle and the reason we chose Global Works Electric was that Dennis took the time to answer all our questions as he offered advice on what we should expect with the work to be done. Another reason was that Dennis stated that Mississauga Hydro would be invovled and an Electrical Inspectator would check the finished project. Dennis called a couple days before the project was to begin as Mississauga Hydro stated that a new 200 amp. underground service would need to be installed from the transformer to the home. I called a few companies that Mississauga Hydro recomended and with a background of high voltage cable splicing that this project would triple our original budget. We had purchased a steam shower through a reputable company that the sales staff explained that they had a contractor that will take care of us as this was a simple installation. In hindsight I should have figured that a 100 amp service would be inadequate as we already had a hot tub as well as in-ground pool with a gas heater. The cost of the steam shower was $5,500.00 and this would be the most expensive shower to use without the steam, radio, lights etc. I called Dennis to explain that the cost of a new 200 amp. underground service was to expensive at this stage of a bathroom renovation. Dennis made a few phone calls and explained to us that there was another option of installing a 125 amp. service and changing our oven and dryer to gas. We decided that this was the right option and purchased a new gas oven, gas dryer and washing machine. Dennis arrived to start the project as Mississauga Hydro disconnected power to the house. I asked Dennis if he would mind if I was present when he was doing the project. Dennis started with the upgrade of the electrical breaker panel and realized that the company that installed the 100 amp. service didn't ground the water service as well as using a connection to the breaker panel that would have never passed an electrical inspection. We chose a company through Homestars a few years ago to change our 100 amp. fuse panel to a 100 amp. breaker panel with the installation of a new hot tub. The company we used was a reputable company that we trusted the work would be done in a safe professional manner as this is what we would expect. NO electrical inspection as well as inadquate grounding and connections that could have put our lives at risk. Dennis corrected the wiring on time and Mississauga Hydro re-connected power. The next day Dennis installed new wiring to the steam shower as well as change our switches so that we could have separate switches for lightiing, bathroom exhaust fan and shower timer into 3 separate switches in one electrical box. Dennis also gave us advice that the exhaust fan we purchased would be adequate however he noticed that a separate piece would have to be purchased so that the humidity sensor would function properly. We exchanged the exhaust fan to the type that Dennis recommended as well as saving us a few dollars as well. The steam shower wiring was complex and the installation manual was inadequate with minimal directions that even the staff and technical service couldn`t explain how the wiring was to be installed within the steam shower. Denniis decided that he would takcle the wiring of the steam shower and within minimal amount of time realized and corrected the wiring so that the steam shower was wired correctly. The electrical inspector came to inspect Dennis`s work and was happy with the results as the electrical work passed the inspection. We did explain the concerns we had of the previous electrician`s work. Dennis was easy going and explained in detail what exactly he was doing and the time passed quickly as it felt like I was talking to a close friend. Dennis provided a higher standard of expertise in quality workmanship with a care for minimal disruption to the homeowners with a stamp of approval from the Electrical Inspector of a job well done. I highly recommend Dennis and Global Works Electric that I have asked him to be the electrical contractor for my sister in-law as soon as he has the time available to do the work. Dennis is above a 10. Thanks Chris & Susan Hayes

After 8 estimates we decided to go with Handyman Connection Mississauga. All the plumbers said that this would be their first steam shower and a few took pictures of the extensive plumbing system. We chose Raphael as he took the time to explain in detail that this installation may have changes made as this was a difficult system to install and he would keep me informed from the start to the finish. Raphael showed up on time and after going over the installation decided that this would be custom work other then the connections to the steam shower supply lines. Raphael noted that since the steam shower base was above the floor that the best way to redirect the plumbing would be above the floor as the steam shower unit would hide the actual plumbing. I was amazed that when he was finished with the copper lines it was like looking at an artist's work as there was a natural flow in all the elbows that both hot and cold were the same height bends and length. The pvc drainpipes were tight in space and Raphael worked his magic as he moved all the plumbing so that there was a better flow towards the drain. Near the end of the job Raphael decided that he didn't think one section of the drainpipe was adequate with the flow of the water into the drain and changed a couple pieces that made the water drain quicker. I enjoyed the hours we spent together as he took the time to educate me on what was what and why he was doing the plumbing job in as he progressed through the job. Raphael said at the beginning that since this was a complex job that the price of the quote might be changed as this was all custom work. The price Raphael estimated remained the same even though he decided that a couple items should be changed after installation and this is the sign that he cares about his workmanship as well as stands behind it. Raphael we thank you and look forward to our next renovation in 2012 as the kitchen will be renovated. I also thank Handyman Connection for having the staff that answer the phones to booking appointments that they are also professionals. Chris & Susan Hayes

We recently visited Factory Tile Depot as we were looking for tiles for the start of a renovation of our bathroom. As we looked at tiles Samantha introduced herself to us with a warm smile asking if we needed any help just ask. My wife recently had surgery on her eye to slow down a disease that will leave her blind at an early age. We talked to Samantha who advised us on what type of tiles that would work best for us in the shower. Samantha noticed that my wife was reaching out to touch a tile as the texture was the only way to know at this time what the end result would be. Samantha guided my wife's hand across the differant tiles explaining in detail what the colors were as well as the texture. We realized that Factory Tile Depot cared for their customers as other companies push for a sale. We picked out the tiles that will tile the new shower as well as a free DVD on how to install shower floors for tiles as well as a bonus of 10% off with a chocolate heart shaped chocolate for my wife. I highly recomend Factory Depot Tile and am proud to stand behind them knowing this is the start of a long friendship as we renovate the bathroom then start on the kitchen renovation. I would also like to add that the smile on my wife's face said it all. Thanks Factory Tile Depot

I had a problem with a breaker triping occasionally when the pool pump was running. I contacted Rico Electric in the afternoon and was told they will send an electrician tomorrow. Rico called at 8:30a.m. and the electrician was here within 1/2 hour. I explained the problem and STAN checked the breaker, then the junction box, locating the pump wiring and tested the current as well as explained exactly what he was doing. Stan located the problem and changed the breaker. Stan also checked the entire breaker for any faulty wiring connections. Rico Electric are well represented with Stan as he was a professional, easy to understand with a sense of humor as well as educating me on the electrical wiring etc. In the future as we continue to upgrade our electrical in the backyard we will only use Rico Electric. The cost was lower then I expected as well as no charge for estimate. Thanks Chris
