I hired Mark, owner of Fine Design Interiors to reupholster 6 peeling and tearing kitchen chairs. I chose him over several other companies I spoke with because of his honesty, friendliness, valuable information he provided before being hired and his true interest in making me a happy customer. My husband and I went to his showroom to see his sample books of which there are many but because I was pretty sure of what I wanted, it was easy to choose from 1 or 2 books. During our discussion he made the best espresso my husband and I ever had! The chairs were picked up, finished and returned ahead of schedule. I have to say they look amazing! The quality of the work, the care taken to ensure every single chair was perfect, the added gliders put on for nothing, the beautiful material we chose that looks awesome, all contribute to a fabulous job that we so happy about. Nothing was spared to ensure a perfect job at a reasonable price well worth every penny. While there, my husband and I saw several couches. Some of them were special orders and they were beautiful. We are actually looking to get a new couch and we are seriously considering using Mark and his company to help design and build us our one of a kind couch and chairs. If you are looking for a company with superb work, an owner who has a great personality, integrity, is honest and truly cares about the work that is produced, then Fine Design Interiors is the only place of this type to visit. You will NOT be disappointed. Thank you so much Mark and Enzo for the amazing job on our chairs that we were ready to throw out!

We hired Energy Home Service to clean out our dryer duct as we had a problem with clothes not drying properly, requiring 4 tries before the clothes were dry. Adam came over and explained the importance of maintaining dryer duct cleaning, the most important reason being the chance of fire for blocked ducts. We had no idea. He cleaned out the duct thoroughly, leaving our grass almost grey with the dust that was pulled out. It was embarrassing. Adam then cleaned up the mess so we could again see the green and not grey mess. He then looked behind our dryer and pulled out items that fallen behind the dryer and onto the floor such as clothes, garbage bags, etc. This was not part of his job. He was extremely knowledgeable, informative, polite and patient. He was great. I would recommend Adam or anyone tech from Energy Home Services for any duct needs. They truly care about their customers and teach the importance of both maintenance and safety. Highly recommended.

We hired Joe about 2 years ago for a dishwasher door repair and he was great so we hired him again this week when our dishwasher broke down. He came over the next day and told us the circuit board was broken. Most repair people would have told us to get a new board to the tune of about $250 and then pay to have it installed. Joe was ingenious. He was able to transfer and install one of the buttons we didn’t use to the broken start button and voila, all fixed! While he was here we asked about a broken part in our fridge. Joe ordered the part needed and picked it up the next day. It was after that when I called him and told him we also had a broken veggie bin in the fridge. Joe went back to the supplier in bad driving weather and got that part as well. He returned to our house the next day and replaced the broken part and easily installed the bin. He also took it upon himself to remove the vent piece on the bottom of the fridge that was full of dust and replace it after the bottom of the fridge was vacuumed clean. No charge. He also did not charge for a second service call. Considering all the driving he did getting parts twice for our fridge, coming to our house twice and his time spent repairing both the fridge and our dishwasher, his price was more than fair. We were very happy with Joe 2 years ago and were just as happy this time around. He is so personable, honest and incredibly knowledgeable. He easily could have told us to replace the whole top circuit board on our dishwasher but he fixed it himself instead. He even gave us suggestions on how to rid our washing machine of that “musty” smell they all get after awhile and how to clean our dishwasher. He’s been in the business for 37 years, knows his stuff and is more than willing to share his knowledge and save his customers money. My husband and I are so happy we hired Joe again. Quick service, fair charges, totally reputable and nice as can be. What more could anyone ask for? He’s our guy! Thank you again Joe for completing 2 jobs at our home in less than a week! You’re the best and we would highly recommend you to anyone!

We had to install a new roof last summer due to the terrible windstorm and curling of our tiles. We hired Sum It Roofing after checking several companies. Even though it’s only been about a year, this winter was terrible with horrible storms and a lot of snow. We’re now looking at spring and summer. Our roof still looks like it was installed yesterday. It stood against the miserable winter and looks absolutely gorgeous, as though it was installed yesterday. We are so happy we hired Sum It for this job!

We are the second owners of a thirteen year old house and did not expect to be replacing a roof so soon. I have used HomeStars for several jobs and written a review on each one. I have to say that Sum-it Roofing has to be at the top of the list. We received several quotes for the job, one at $20,000, another at $18,000 and some lower than the company we chose. I originally spoke with John who viewed our roof and the damage caused by the horrible storm. In addition, our shingles were all curling and we needed a new roof fast to avoid water damage in case of heavy rain. After our talk, my husband and I decided to speak to Eris, his sales rep. Eris came over the next day and spent 2 hours with us. He explained EVERYTHING; how the company works, the type of shingles they use and why, all the extras included such as vents, etc. He also emphasized that the crew is all trained and must wear safety gear unlike some other companies where the crew just walk around the roof unprotected from accidents. He was not trying to “sell” us. Rather, he was factual and clear. He took samples of shingles outside and placed them against our stone and brick to ensure the color we chose would be visually appealing. Other contractors said color didn’t really matter but I was concerned about that issue and Eris explained that the front of the house is the first thing you see – VISUAL is so important and it certainly is to us. We signed the contract and set a date for the job. Normally, shingles are placed on top of the roof before starting the job, making it easier to get going. Because of the type of stone we have on our driveway, the truck carrying the shingles could not park there. The company had to place a hoist on the driveway and physically place each shingle package on the hoist to lift them up. It was a tedious and backbreaking job but not one complaint was heard by us. Everyone showed up for the job including John, the owner, and Alejandro, the construction supervisor. They ALL worked on the roof together. That was a surprise as most owners just send a crew. Not John. He was right up there working with everyone else. Our roof has many curves, valleys and slopes so it is not an easy roof to work with and the crew was fantastic, working all day in the heat. (Please give your guys food and water!) They started at 8 am and they finished for the night at 9 pm, exhausted but still smiling. Everyone said good morning, how are you, have a wonderful day. Who says that today? The next day was finish and clean up. Once the job was done the crew cleaned up the area and used their magnetic machine to catch the nails. I then noticed 2 workers on their hands and knees picking through the grass to ensure that no nails had been left behind. They even cleaned out our entire garage, making it way cleaner than before they even started the job.! The following Monday, John came by, climbed onto the roof and checked everything to ensure the job was intact and completed properly. It was. We were not disappointed. Sum-it Roofing is amazing. John is one of the nicest and most honest people we have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. Companies are not afraid to charge high prices and then disappear once they get their money. My husband and I never once had or have that feeling with Sum-it Roofing. They are totally honest and don’t pull any punches. John is to the point, giving his best advice as to what a customer requires. Eris knows his job inside out. He is kind, answered every single question (there were many) and leaves you feeling totally confident in your decision to use Sum-it. We could easily have gone with a less expensive company but we felt no commitment on their part once the money was paid. We are thrilled with our decision. After what we saw before and after the work was completed, we have already recommended Sum-it to others. We are so grateful to John, Eris, Alejandro and the entire Sum-it crew. John, thank you so much. Kudos to you and your company for a job done with heart, loyalty, and true professionalism!

We opened our dishwasher door the other day to find the spring or hinge had broken, resulting in the door "falling down" instead of coming down slowly. We call Joe who literally arrived the next day with all the parts needed and in less than 45 minutes our door was back to normal. While here, we showed Joe the cheese tray cover in our fridge. One side of the cheese tray holder had broken and the cover fell off every time we opened the tray. He told us he would have to get the part but being the holidays, he wasn't sure if the part would be available until the new year. The very next day Joe called, advising that he found the part and was coming over to fix it which he did as well. He even helped clean the inside of the fridge where I couldn't reach due to parts I could not remove!. He showed us the vent at the bottom of the fridge and advised on how to remove and replace it and how often to clean it. We didn't know it was there!. He was so personable and accommodating, friendly and provided us with some excellent advice on our appliances in general. We have used Homestars several times and it's so easy to see why Joe is part of it. His price for 2 visits including the drives, parts and labour were more than reasonable. He did not, like some other companies, try to "rip us off." He has now become my Appliance Guy and I would not give a second thought to referring him to anyone looking for someone who is honest, reliable, and fast AND goes out of his way to get the job done in a manner that is totally professional!

We hired Lawn Savers last year and they did a fantastic job with our lawn, restoring it in the terrible heat to beautiful green. I felt the need to write again this year as we have had a huge drainage problem on our lawn that has apparently been here since we moved in almost 2 years ago. Water was seeping from our neighbours lawn into ours and our back yard was pretty much a squishy mess. This year we hired a company to repair the problem. Lawn Savers came in after the job was done and did their "thing" restoring all our squishy and muddy back yard to beautiful. Unfortunately not all the drainage issue was fixed and we had to have that company come back (last yweek) and dig 4 more trenches for the water and then replace the grass that was lifted. At the moment, we are waiting for Lawn Savers to return (we had put them on hold until the drainage problem was repaired the 2nd time) and fertilize, etc and do whatever they have to do to get our lawn back to where it was last year while we were experiencing the same issue. Their staff is amazing; courteous, understanding of our needs and extremely efficient and friendly on the phone. A very nice change from "other" companies who come door to door and won't take no for an answer!. Lawn Savers always calls beforehand to advise when they will be coming so there is never an issue if appointments need to be changed, etc. We are soooo pleased with this company. We feel we could not have asked for better people or a better company to enhance the look of our home with beautiful green grass. I cannot wait for them to return and get our back yard to where it was after they started! EB Richmond Hill

We had a huge backyard drainage problem that caused our lawn to be soaking wet, mucky and "squishy" when we walked on it. We hired Canada Waterproofers. Given the terrible summer rain, the job took longer than expected. However, once the rain finally stopped, they arrived, dug up a huge part of our lawn, dug a huge trench, filled it with gravel and then added a catch basin for the water. We thought this would solve the problem and we paid for the job. However, a short time later we noticed that the grass higher up our lawn was still wet and squishy. We called Stuart who came over to reassess the situation. This time his crew came again, dug up another part of our lawn and built 3 more deep trenches filled with gravel. They then recovered the areas and relaid the grass. They even purchased grass on their own and filled in the areas in front of our deck that looked like mud. The workers were polite and worked tirelessly to repair what we could only call one huge mess and backbreaking work. Stuart was available by phone and visited the house to check the work and or reassess at least 3 or 4 times. The company gives a 25year warranty and Stuart told us should we encounter any problems, to call the company back. Notwithstanding the morning dew, the mud is gone, the grass is lush and green and growing and we are thrilled with the outcome. Given their concern, patience and integrity, we would not hesitate to recommend Canada Waterproofers without a second thought.

We called PC service On Site as we could not get our printer to print. Peter got into my computer and fixed the problem and then worked on my daughter's laptop regarding the same problem. Not only that, he worked on the issue for 2 hours and charged us for only 1 hour. We found this to be extremely accommodating and kind on his part. Both he and his wife Meredith were extremely friendly and helpful and solved our issue. We would definitely recommend this extremely competent and knowledgeable company to anyone in need of home repairs where, as an added bonus, you do not have to bring your computer or laptop in for service!

Using remote access software we were able to get you back up and running. It took a little longer than normal for a few reasons including our internet service decided to go up and down that night. But with patience and your understanding we managed to get you back up and running.

Last summer was very hot and most of the lawns on my street had brown grass. Thanks to LawnSavers we had beautiful GREEN grass. Professional, courteous and always ready to address my concerns. Provided tips on how to take proper care of our lawn. Also appreciated the reminder calls to advise of when they were coming. 10* company! Looking forward to their work this summer!!!

I called this company after reading its rave reviews and was not disappointed. From my initial contact with Adel, I knew I was in good hands. He was extremely personable, answered all my questions and was genuinely interested in my concerns. Dino and Hugo arrived just two days ago to do the job which entailed alot since we had just built our basement and had our bathroom remodelled. The dust was overwhelming. Dino explained everything before they started the job so I was aware of everything they would be doing. They were exceptionally professional, polite, neat and clean. They had to open and reseal vents and did a great job at that. They moved furniture around to ensure nothing was left out. The vents, pipes, etc were disinfected and cleaned thoroughly. Everything was cleaned from top to bottom in our home. Before they had arrived I had been suffering from major sore throats for over a month due to the dust in the air and two days later, I am sore throat free! They were on time, early in fact and called to ensure I was home and ask if they could arrive before our scheduled time. I am constantly receiving phone calls from people offering dust cleaning services and would never think of using an "unknown" company with no references. I have already referred this remarkable and honest company to two of my friends and would do so for anyone looking for a reputable firm. JOB WELL DONE!
