Our nine year old Rinnai tankless hot water heater had been blaring like a jet engine for years. We tried flushing it once a year with vinegar hoping against hope that it would fix the problem. It never did. We called Tracey at Hoerner Plumbing and she had Derek and Cameron out to see what they could do. Years ago, we’d had another outfit look at it, but they could do nothing for us, so I was sceptical. So I was astounded that Derek was able to have it purring like a kitten within the hour. Kudos to Hoerner Plumbing!

This review is amazing in illustrating some of the bizarre issues we address on older systems. Diagnosing a system is very unique to each house. It is specialized so it is wonderful how well you have described the situation of your tankless Rinnai domestic tankless system problem. If installing a complete new tankless with new piping etc. and there is space and access it can be mostly straight forward. However diagnosing older systems from house to house are very unique depending on what occurs during the life of the heating and/or domestic hot water system. Hoerner strives to address the whole system and offers options to the client ways to try to provide a seamless operating system.
Thank you so much for having confidence in Hoerner, and we hope we may be of assistance in the future.

I remembered too late that we had used Reliable before. Always prompt, tidy, courteous and fair, Reliable Plumbing lives up to their name and will be our go-to plumbing outfit from now on. We had called another company to cap the water lines to the vanity and toilet for our bathroom refresh. A simple enough task, it did not go well. That’s when I remembered Reliable Plumbing. When it came time to install the new one piece toilet, we gave them a call. The installation was not straight forward, but Ozan was meticulous and well-skilled. He double-checked the measurements, made some adjustments and got the job done in a timely manner .. thanks Ozan!

The drafty, oversized bubble skylight in our tiny bathroom made for a chilly late night visit to the loo. We decided to swap it out for an energy efficient sun tunnel. We read up, checked the Homestars reviews and called Skylights Unlimited. Brady, the estimator gave us good advice, Tina the office coordinator, kept us well informed and Ed and his crew did excellent work, wrapping up in just a couple of days with terrific results. The light from the sun tunnel is much nicer than the old skylight and the bathroom will be much more comfortable on cold winter nights.

If you live in the east end of Toronto and need to replace your windows, this is the company to go with. We interviewed several charismatic window salesmen from a wide range of suppliers from Brock to Pella, but were not impressed. Moncada has been in the neighbourhood for years, and are intimate with the peculiarities of older houses. They have a very good product, dedicated in-house installation expertise and an honest straight-up approach to sales and service . We love our new windows and front door and couldn't be happier with our choice.

Although ours is the middle unit in a row of houses, our energy consumption had been greater than it should have been, and yet we were rarely comfortable. After several years of putting up with a second floor that was too hot in summer and too cold in winter, we were encouraged by a raft of government energy rebate programs to begin looking at our options for improving the energy efficiency of our home. After discussing our options with a number of HVAC contractors, all of whom were friendly, knowledgeable people whose opinions and recommendations were very similar to one another, we decided to go with Richard Payer from Coretemp. Two things set him apart. First his knowledge, passion and commitment to his work was uniquely evident. Second, his fervent enthusiasm for the Ruud three stage modulating furnace also distinguished him from the other HVAC consultants we had spoken with, all of whom had recommended two stage furnaces. Richard was going to be on the job, ensuring that what he had promised, would get done. His problem solving skills, attention to detail and responsible attitude – we are happy to report – were all well proven on our job. And it should be noted that his guys, Chris and Jason are both conscientious tradesmen in their own rights. Our house is always comfortable now. The UGFD Ultra Series 90 Plus High Efficiency Modulating Furnace and its thermostat supply an evenness of temperature throughout our house that we had never really expected, and we rarely notice it is on, it’s that quiet. The furnace also has a humidifier and superb dust filter that greatly improve the air quality and comfort level through the cold, dry months of winter. The Rinnai tankless hot water heater is also a very welcome addition to our home. First, the water is clean. No more sludge build up as in a tank. Second, it’s hot water on demand, so no more need to keep 40 gallons of water heated. It is somewhat slower to deliver hot water at the tap, but not unacceptably slower. We never need worry about running out of hot water and it is capable of delivering hot water to the kitchen sink at the same time as someone is showering, without much of a drop in pressure. Thanks Richard!
