Buying a new house has many unknowns. In many cases you end up spending more than you had anticipated. This happened to us which forced us to re-consider how we were going to furnish the new home. In our case it became very simple. The only areas we could afford to add new furniture was the living room since we had no furniture, an old office desk and a couple of beds for the kids all had to be discarded. The wife’s dream of a new bedroom set continues to be a dream. Unfortunately, when we moved in the carpeting was in very bad shape needing to be the first priority to be tackled. We decided that we look for a low-cost carpet solution which allowed us to furnish the living room. After visiting six different carpet outlets you get the sense of what you can and cannot afford. Our visit to Carpet Villa stood out. We were greeted by Matthew and his friendly-hairy-assistant Skeeter. As with any purchase you want to buy quality for the lowest price possible. Matthew assured us that we were going to get quality without paying brand-name prices. What distinguishes Matthew is his ability to listen and understand what you are looking for. Matthew treats you as if he has known you for many years. He provided an excellent quote as he assured us during our initial visit. The installation of the carpet was excellent and the look of the carpet turned out better than we had anticipated. Matthew’s selection of the under pad another very important component provided wonderfully comfortable cushioning. We are very pleased with the outcome. Since most carpet buyers visit multiple stores to better understand their options we suggest that you include Carpet Villa as one of them.

I'm so glad that you guys love your new carpet and the pad has a memory foam in it so you will never pack it down, therefore increasing the amount of years you will enjoy the carpeting and allowing us out to save for your furniture. I'm glad you found us and you are now part of our flooring family.

Hope to see you soon, and Skeeter will always love an ear scrub if your in the area.

This is our moving experience. It began with a home visit by Steffanie. Upon our initial meeting I expressed my fear on how moving companies have been linked to bed bugs. She assured me that bed bugs were a non-issue. As we surveyed the house she provided moving tips on how to prepare which I appreciated. Also she recommended a 4-man crew for all the right reasons. The day of the move arrived with Johnny, Gary, Dan and Richard pulling up in our driveway on a gloomy snowy day. This was the day all the heavy items were to be transferred to the new house. I was feeling the stress to be sure. The boys showed up in good spirits. Their playful attitude started to break-down my stress level. As Johnny surveyed the house he pulled out a hand written letter by Steffanie detailing specific instructions to be conveyed to the moving team. Johnny assured me there would no bed bug issue. That moment took all my stress away. I realized that I picked the right moving company. Then I stepped back and watched the boys tackle the move. The jokes and the playful insults put a smile on my face. I was amazed at the level of intensity that was sustained for such a long period of time. These guys are relentless. What became really obvious and I must say I was not expecting this was the level of pride each one of the boys exhibited. The care that was taken with each piece of furniture and the show of respect for the my old home was comforting. In closing I would like direct the final shout-out to the dispatcher who assigned this veteran crew. Your decision made a world of difference. If I’m ever asked I would recommend Hudson Mover’s and Johnny’s crew.

Insurance company says replace all aluminum and knob and tube wiring in the next 60 days or no insurance. Now this becomes a crisis. Who do you go to when you know nothing about building rewiring and you know the final cost is going to hurt. I asked my trusted electrician friend what to do? He recommended Stan because that is what he does. Building rewiring is a big and a problematic project. You require someone who possesses knowledge, experience and compassion because this is a very expensive job. Compassion because with all projects there are surprises. In many cases Stan absorbed the cost within the initial price quote and when additional work was needed Stan presented the reason and the cost of the additional work (smoke detectors etc.). I felt Stan showed good judgement when an additional cost was needed. In the end I have a building that is safe, problem free and have additional electrical functionality that has made me very happy. Included in the quote was plastering, a headache I did not have to worry about. The building was like Swiss cheese requiring extensive patchwork. The plastering managed by Nick from Accurate Designs quickly addressed the work and cleaned up the mess. An additional headache that arises is the job requires an Electrical Inspection. The work must be done to electrical code. We passed easily which was a relief. The final issue is what happens if something goes wrong? Stan comforted me by saying if any issue arises he will address it because his work is covered by a 10-year warranty. When was the last time a trades-person ever offered you that? The insurance company approved the work which resulted in the continuance of our building insurance. Thank you Stan and Nick!!!
