Incase you do not want to read all of this I will just say DO NOT use Roman [last name removed-- Ed], or Roman Construction. Where to begin, well I bought a home and wanted to renovate the kitchen. I did a lot of research and was able to come up with a detailed design for the new kitchen. I had several contractors come in to my home and give me quotes. I found Roman [last name removed--Ed] through a flyer in the mail. He came to my home and unlike most of the other contractors he gave me a quote on the spot, and said that he was able to begin right away. His quote was very reasonable and he seemed very keen. I tried to find reviews about this guy but I was unable to find anything. He wrote up a contract and brought it over the next day. We agreed verbally over every detail however the contract he wrote up was vague, Roman explained this away by saying his English was not very good. The work began well Roman demolished the old kitchen quickly, however after three days Roman called me and explained that he needed more money for an unexpected cost. At the time I was happy with Roman and agreed to pay the extra money, he assured me this would be the final price. However a week later the same thing occurred again Roman apologized several times, and I again paid more money for another unexpected cost. Roman had given me a date that the project would be finished, 2 days before the deadline Roman informed me that he would need another week, I really had no choice and agreed to the extension in time. That week extension turned into 2 weeks and still the kitchen was not done. I met with Roman to ask when the project would be complete, and was shocked when he mentioned the fact that I would have to pay extra to install the hood range he had suggested I buy. I argued with him because we had agreed that he would install it from the beginning, to which he pointed out that he had not written it in the contract. I was upset but I just wanted my kitchen finished. Roman now would come in once or twice a week for an hour or two, and each time he would ask me if I could give him the last payment even though he was not done. Finally he told me he needed more money to finish, being a fool and wanted the work done I again paid him. Soon I felt as though the work would never be done and I had several other projects to finish in the home, so I paid Roman, and had another contractor come in and finish the work. The work Roman [last name removed --Ed] did in my home was below standard, if you have an eye for detail you will not be happy with this guy. He damaged my new cabinets while installing them, the back splash is uneven, and he used cheep materials in my home despite the fact I paid top dollar for everything. I could live with all that but the fact that he delayed finishing in order to get more money from me, and never finished my kitchen despite a months worth of extensions makes him a criminal in my mind. I hope this does not happen to anyone else.
