It has been a nightmare and a very traumatic experience dealing with this TV production company. They don't honour their contract at all. In the contract, they said I would be directly and physically involved with the reno which would be done to mutual satisfaction; they would employ professional licensed contractors to produce satisfactory work. And I would be getting a "bang for my buck" if I paid them $20k instead of my budgeted $15k. It was too good to be true. Once I paid them the money, my nightmare started. First I had to chase after them for the scope of work as they never followed up. Then it came just in my email, no discussion and no meeting. Where was the mutual satisfaction? A few days after they started the job, they changed my lock and told me I couldn't visit my space until the "reveal". You could imagine how shocked I was when I saw their new lock on my door. How could I be directly involved with the reno? Their so called professional workers would blast their rock music all day. They stopped when I complained but they would start it again. On a Saturday morning, one sponsor came unexpectedly by breaking the latch on my storm door to come in. They didn't have the courtesy to buzz me. There was no supervision at all at the job site. Scot was no where to be seen. He came in just for the camera. When I finally got my place back, seven weeks later, I almost got heart attack when I saw all the shoddy work ........ It's going to take me days to tell my complete nightmare. Its also painful to recall it. This TV people are in their own world. They had completely shattered my image of home and garden shows. Consumer beware!

Approximate cost of services:
$20,000.00
What could this company do to improve their services?
Improve their contract process; follow provincial and municipal guidelines. Don't make their own law. Fulfill promises of mutual satisfaction. Hire real licensed professionsl and not amateurs. Honor warranties and fix all deficiencies.
Any advice to offer fellow homeowners facing a similar project?
If it is too good to be true, get a lawyer to check the contract before signing.
