Great experience. He's quick to get back to us when we leave a voicemail. Provides quotes for the various jobs and always sticks with those prices. He schedules his visits in advance, has a professional demeanor and the best workmanship around. This is not the first time we've used his services and it certainly won't be the last.

What could this company do to improve their services?
He's great, so there's nothing at this time that I could suggest for improvement. Keep up the good work, Scotty!

We found Kevin [last named removed-- Ed] by way of referral from a neighbor. I contacted him via email in November 2009. He was very professional and prompt throughout - starting with his response to my request for quotes all the way through the completion of the services. He adjusted his schedule to allow for the exterior work with the antenna before the 1st snow fell, given the weather forecast in November. I always knew what to expect. He did some of the work at his own home, thereby requiring less of my time spent at our house while he was there. I was pleased with the care he took in the positioning of the antenna - we communicated by cellphone while he was up on the roof. He took the time to think of the possible solution to the woodwork issue (the reason for work needed) in the kitchen, providing a couple of different options for the solution. Kevin even provided us with some valuable input with regard to my husband's attempt to replace the humidifier attached to the furnace. He charged us by the hour plus the cost of supplies, for which he supplied receipts. I couldn't be more happy with the services Kevin Rife performed or the professionalism he exhibited.

Total payments made: $5,700. Only significant work performed was demolition, concluded on 12/27/2004 while contract stated that work was to be completed by 12/4/2004. Some minor electrical and plumbing was started. We filed complaints with the Illinois Attorney General's office and the Better Business Bureau. Additionally, filed a police report. There was a judgement filed in excess of $500,000 in the case of People vs. Alpha Core Construction, Inc., and George [last name removed -- Ed].

What could this company do to improve their services?
Follow through on contracted services in the timeframe outlined.
Any advice to offer fellow homeowners facing a similar project?
Only work with contractors found via "word of mouth" - those who can be recommended by people you know. DO NOT go with the firm providing the lowest estimate. Build into the contract a schedule of payments made based on specific milestones or completion points.
