Completely overpaid for 3 hours of work and minimal materials (since I provided the faucets). The job was easier than routine since I had the contractors leave all the pipes exposed so no need for demo to access. Also there was no need for them to do any finishing work to hide the plumbing. In my opinion 300+ an hour for parts and labour was excessive. Harris Plumbing: please don't try to contact me as you already had your chance to make things right. In response to Harris plumbing...... you can try and explain it however you like. The fact is that when broken down to an hourly rate I paid 300 dollars and very little of that cost materials. If it was in fact a complex job then people should expect even worse value since you base your rates from your book of prices which you were inflexible on.... ie not adjust for me providing the bulk of materials and the job being easier than what would be considered a standard job. Don't fall for their insincere attempt to rectify the situation. We spoke on the phone and they stood by their rates. This poor review was written after they had a chance to address the problem. Bottom line is i paid over 300 an hour for fixtures to be installed. I provided the fixture plus open walls. All they needed to do was connect things. This was not a case of them having to extend pipes to accommodate the renovations.

Hello Peter. Sorry you are not happy with your experience - may I assume you are happy with our professional work? You don't give any details about what pipes were exposed or how much adjusting we had to do. In our experience (over 45 years of it in fact) we have learned that renovator/contractors never leave pipes exactly where they are needed for finishing - they can't. There are always adjustments that must be made.
But without knowing who you are or what we did for you, you are putting us at an unfair disadvantage. A last name or an invoice # would sure help. Would welcome discussion...

Great service. Sales rep arrived on the scheduled date and time. Helped us to pick our doors, the style, the hardware and colour. Customization is an option we added black metal hardware to a garage door even though the hardware typically goes on carriage style doors. The man who installed the doors did a great job. We've had these new doors for 5 months and no issues. The put in new tracks so the doors open smoothly and quietly. Only thing we did not replace were the remotes and motors.

Here are my problems with this company 1) They send subcontractors to do my job. I chose them thinking that I was getting a big company with a long standing reputation. 2) They did not start work on the day that they were supposed to. When I phoned to check what was going on they seemed surprised and had no idea that my job was to be done. They had given me a call earlier to confirm the start date so I figured there was no reason to be concerned..... until they didn't show up on that date. 3) I opted to have downpipe extensions and underlayment to cover the entire roof. The downpipes were never extended and the underlayment was not placed everywhere. If I had not come home from work one day and noticed that the shingles were going directly onto the wood I would have been none the wiser. Lesson learned watch them while they work. To be clear underlayment was put in some places but not in all places. This is a problem because I had requested for underlayment to be put everywhere (as per the contract). 4) During the skylight replacement our dining room floor received a 2 inch gash in the wood. Not covered by the contract. :( 5) They were slow to respond to e-mails and phone calls when I was displeased about the points above. Sometimes it took more than a week for a response. 8) Production manager failed to ensure that the job done was as per the contract. Made me wonder why I was paying for a production manager. 9) At one point I was arguing with the production manager and his general manager over what was to be done. I was willing to have them come back and fix the job. They refused to remove all shingles and do the job again so that I could be certain that underlayment was placed everywhere. The compromise was that they would cover the cost of a third party roof inspector of my choosing to a maximum of $500. 10) After speaking with two different home inspectors I was advised to offer to pay for only the work that was done and be done with the issue since the roof was done to code. The original job was quoted for 14K and the final adjusted price was 11K. This took two weeks to come to an agreement. As a footnote: I paid them the full amount the day after that I received the final bill. 11) Oh I forgot that they also stated on the original contract that 10 vents should be installed. But they only installed 6. Another failure on the part of the production manager, 12) Workmanship was mediocre. A woven valley was used in one spot instead of a steel valley. That means this valley on the roof will not last as long since it is just overlapping shingles instead of a metal lining. 13) Clean up was not very good. Found broken shingles in the eaves troughs and in the garden. All in all I was looking for a premium roof. They were happy to charge me for one but did very little to ensure that I was getting what I had paid for. Dominion has a fairly large staff of office workers so that means their salaries/overhead is built into the cost. Look elsewhere.

Found RAAKSS on this website and chose them based on the positive reviews. Rob was friendly, helpful, informative, professional, hardworking and quick. He helped do many odd jobs and finishing touches for our new home. The jobs included...Installing trim on skylights, installing ceiling lights, installing a kitching faucet, installing light switches (with timers and motion sensors). We are planning to have Rob back to help install the glass for a shower and mount a ceiling fan. We would have no problems recommending Rob's services.
